Last one for the season. Lincoln lose at Newport, meh who cares. Ok, it affects the play-off battle, but I doubt Lincoln give 2 hoots. The weekend couldn't have gone much better for Bury, who know they are all but promoted. Only 2 heavy defeats in their last 2, enough to take their GD below MK Dons', would see them denied. A point confirms their place in L1 and they have 2 games to do it.

Mansfield and MK Dons both stutter at the finishing line, losing at home to Stevenage and away at Colchester respectively. Now it all comes down to the game next weekend. Mansfield need to not lose, MK Dons must win. What a game that it going to be.

FGR also blew a great chance to get themselves firmly in the automatic race, letting a 3-1 lead slip at mid-table Crewe. They now can only finish 4th or 5th and will, more than likely, face Tranmere. Oh goodie, that should be fun. Tranmere though still have a shot at the top 3. Beat Bury and it's very much on.

Exeter getting their act together at the right time, Bowman also scoring, which is good news as well. Still, the 4 teams below them are all not far off and a defeat at FGR next week opens the door for any of them to jump ahead.

All 4 below them won. Colchester might be able to make the most of Lincoln already being champions, Carlisle are at already relegated Yeovil and Stevenage are at home to poor travellers Cheltenham. All have good chances at winning their final games. Also time to include Newport. They win their game in hand against Oldham in midweek and they'll move into 7th.

So, couple of games to keep an eye on in midweek, then we'll know exactly what's at stake next weekend.

Don't blame us if you don't get enough points.

Doesn't sound like we played particularly well or work the Newport keeper anywhere enough, but they do have a fantastic home record!

Anyway Newport have to win against Oldham and have the extra game, tiredness could come. In. You've still got a good chance for playoffs.
Oldham will also be tired, but they won't be motivated.
It's not the end of the World as we aren't good enough to challenge in League One next season.

Is that 2 goals conceded in 10 home games now for Newport? That's a great record.

They conceded 20 in the previous 12 games at home? The pitch deterioration plays a key role for them then!

Mansfield will also need to win to be sure of promotion, if we beat Bury on Tuesday night.

Only a minor thing, but I'm not sure how 87 can be predicted Champions with 1 game left.

We are going to make the play offs and then get promoted from them because we are easily better than every other team above us by far.

We beat Lincoln, we beat Bury twice who were awful both times and we beat Mansfield at home and thrashed Colchester.

We played well against Carlisle at home, but you snook a 1-0 win.

It's a figure that's derived from how many points a team currently has, divides by the number of games played to give the points per game they are averging. Then it is timed by 46 games to give the expected final total.

So in your case, it's:

85/45= 1.89 PPG.
1.89 PPG x 46 games = 86.9.

Hence where I got 87 from. It's not a perfect stat, especially not this late in the season when there are only 1-2 games left. Only really good as a rough guide, which in your case is halfway between a draw(86) and a win(88).

We went down to 10 men at home and you struggled against 10 men and got beat with relative ease.

How you are in the top 12 is beyond belief.

Probably something to do with having the most potent attack and best home record, could be wrong though.

I go by what I see with my own eyes and I saw the worst team to play up here all season and the worst team we played away.

I can see you struggling next season in this division.

That’s great Carver.

So do you agree that you don't deserve to be where you are in the league and that we are a bigger and better team than you?

And yet you lost to Grimsby just 5 days ago.

Odd game football.

Given the relatively low points tally achieved by teams at the top of the table this season, I wonder if it will have any bearing on how well each promoted club will fare with the step up to league one?

Intriguing one next Saturday, especially if Tranmere beat Bury on Tuesday. Then Mansfield can’t try to keep things tight and play for a draw at MK as a Tranny win at Crawley would be enough to overhaul them. Can’t really call it, but I’ve got a suspicion Mansfield may do the business against MK’s makeshift defence in front of a large and boisterous away following...

Interesting day that took many twists and turns before pretty much ending the same way it started, with Bury and Exeter in the automatic and playoff driving seats.

At one point FGR looked like good bets for automatic promotion, then they chuck it all away. Mugs. Exeter scored late on too, when it looked like we might have five teams level on points.

I'd probably call the race for the final playoff spot a two-horse race between Exeter and Newport now. If Newport beat Oldham then it's probably them, if not then probably Exeter. Given there's always a chance of Newport and Exeter both losing then Colchester are in prime position to nab it.

We could have made things a lot easier on ourselves had we hung on to a four-goal lead today. It would have put Colchester's GD advantage within reach of a good day, whereas now, even if we hammer Yeovil it won't be good enough.

Odd game football.

Exactly, we've taken nine points from nine in our three games against MK and Lincoln so far, whilst failing to beat Notts County home or away.

It would have put Colchester's GD advantage within reach of a good day, whereas now, even if we hammer Yeovil it won't be good enough.

Couldn't believe it when I saw you were four up before half-time! We missed a few sitters when I was desperately thinking a 3 or 4-0 would have been invaluable... then Exeter scored anyway.

Interesting people think Tranmere have a chance of autos. A few 2-0 defeats and they may even finish outside the play offs. Most exeter fans are thinking we have a better chance of leap frogging Tranmere on goal difference (Smash 'em Bury) than we do at keeping Newport below us.

It’ll be bury and one of tranmere or MK.

Thankfully we can’t finish lower than 5th so at least home last in the playoffs

You don't have any role in keeping Newport below you. If they beat Oldham they'll be above you

Where have you been the last few weeks? Only popped out of your cave now Exeter scrape a win.

Most Exeter fans aren't that stupid. Rovers will get the point required to ensure a play-off spot.

I've not been on here despite numerous City wins. So your slander doesn't quite stand up to reality. Mainly because of nonces like shoddy piss me off. Most have never been to a footy game in their life but like to talk shite on a forum - Which is self evident in their moronic posts. Much prefer footy forums (Await deletion of this post). People actually discuss football rather than try to argue at every chance.

Yeah, Tranmere probably will secure a point. But Newport probably will win both their games. Most Exeter fans think it's more likely Tranmere will lose both than Newport not winning both.

Reality is, we will miss out. But much more likely Tranmere fuck up, who ain't even that good - Than Newport, given the fixtures.
