Forget the impending relegation and getting smashed every week every Luton fan will be smiling today because the legal challenges to the New Stadium/Enabling development are over and the objectors have admitted defeat!

We're actually getting our new stadium! :woo::woo::woo::woo:

Just saw this too. Amazing news.

Still a lot of work to do before there are boots on the ground but it’s in the hands of Gary Sweet, 2020 et al rather than the courts and C&Rs. Just amazing, never thought we would even get this far.

what do ya reckon sumo..??

Pretty shocked initially but it kind of makes sense thinking about it. Knows the majority of the players as he brought them here so should be able to hit the ground running.

If Gary and the board are ok to bury the hatchet over it then I think he deserves a chance. Not having his chest thumping peacock routine anymore though!

Didnt he have a similar thing with Burton? Left them in the middle of a promotion season, pretty much failed (or was pretty average) everywhere else but came back and did a decent job.

Perhaps NJ can be our Clough Jr or Eddie Howe!

I've just watched his press conference from earlier. Surprisingly very bullish and extremely confident.

The board were clearly extremely angry with the way he acted and the hachet appears to have been buried - he was very much in grovelling mode and said he "betrayed" the fans and players. His tail is between his legs.

He's had his medicine - time to move on and look forward. I think it will actually work quite positively this.

Ha really - when has he ever not been bullish and extremely confident Ken?!

I agree with you about just moving forward now though - if Gary and David Wilkinson et al are happy to move on then so am i.

Short term I still think we will be relegated but longer term he has the right attributes and process to get us back here at some point. Im pleased with it.

Are you chaps watching on ifollow or on some dodgy stream? If the latter then perhaps anybody can steer me in the right direction so to speak. ;) Thanks and good luck Luton.

It’s on ifollow for us season ticket holders I’m afraid mate.

Wouldn’t worry you haven’t missed much bar some very rusty looking football!

RIP ALAN GARNER
2/2/1951 – 23/7/2020
25 July 2020

News has reached Kenilworth Road of the sudden and sad death of Alan Garner at the young age of 69.
Walworth born Alan joined local club Millwall from school but made only two League appearances for the Lions before being released in 1971 and snapped up by the Hatters on the recommendation of scout Harry Haslam who had been trailing him.
Alan had to bide his time initially but when Chris Nicholl was sold to Aston Villa in March 1972 he immediately stepped up to the first team where he eventually formed a solid central defensive partnership with John Faulkner.

A stylish and skilful centre-half with the added benefit of a prodigious long throw, Alan was ever present in the Town side that won promotion to the top flight in 1974 before losing his place to the teenage prodigy Paul Futcher.
After 112 first team appearances for the Hatters, Alan moved to Watford in February 1975 where he played over 200 times and won promotion twice. Finishing his Football League career at Portsmouth, Alan then went on to play for Barnet, Chesham and Barton Rovers before hanging up his boots to concentrate on his local double glazing bisiness.
At one time Alan had an executive box at Kenilworth Road and, although preferring the golf course, always kept an active eye on anything to do with the Hatters and was a welcome guest to a game alongside old playing colleagues Peter Anderson, David Court and Ken Goodeve a couple of seasons ago.
Our condolences go out to wife Sylvia and all his family and friends.

Hi there Oaky
Well mate I thought you were heading for the drop, never mind Steve McQueen in the Great Escape, yours was better ! To say you can be chuffed is an understatment but well pleased for you
We managed to screw up in the semi final play offs courtesy of a disastrous 1st leg home defeat. Tbh I think we can be in the mix again this season but there are so many iffs and buts for all of us
Keep well pal

Luton have hit their season ticket cap of 6,700 this season. A few hundred more are on the waiting list.

Now to actually work out a way to get these people in stadiums! A total wipeout of supporters attending games this season would result in probably £2m of refunds, plus a further £1m in lost gate receipts. But the important thing is to have this short term cash flow and we can sort out the problems later.

The cap is the same as last season, 7000, but the club is not selling any to new applicants/those on the waiting list, until they know when, and how many, people will be allowed into the games.
Reading the statement from the club, it implies that about 300 season ticket from last season have not renewed. It would be interesting to know the reasons (well I'd be interested anyway.)

Although groundwork appears to have started already, seemingly our new stadium will start being built in 2021.

Peter Barnes? Leeds maybe Man City. Could even be Paul Futcher but that might be me stretching Man City.
