Not sure i do. Hes gobby. And prolific. Maybe we'll warm. Maybe he'll warm to Luton. He was pretty snappy in the tackle when we played them in the Cup last season and has carried on. Respect he takes what he gives tho.
You'll get used to him. If he's not calling you a **** then he doesn't really like you

In the last year I’ve spent most of my time on the road. Last year was my worst season in 23 in terms of games attended due to this but obviously keep track as much as possible.

It just feels that the club has bounced a huge amount in the last 12 months.

The stadium project is an obvious gain but off the pitch the club is undoubtedly in the best position it is ever been. The club is run by local people with local interests at heart, with unbelievable ambition. They don’t want to stop in the Championship, they want to go further.

Going by CV, Graeme Jones has the potential to be one of the shrewdest appointments it has ever made.

Looking at the four signings we’ve made, it seems the club has made some very canny signings with decent reputations, similar to when we joined here in 2005.

We’re one of the smallest clubs in the Championship but for the sake of the organisation, it has to be one of the finest. It already feels a million miles better than League One which in itself is not a bad league at all.

We're all pretty happy. But we just made a fucking ginormous step up in class and size, with a new untested Manager. I have faith in the board but it would have been nice to have mare the step with consistency. Unavoidable situation and i like the look of the appointment rather than a bog standard name.......... but im a little nervous.

Alright. Like the upgraded Jones based from the post pre season first game. Talks a good game. Don't lime we lost James and worse, likely Stacey. But, like the look of the hands we're in so lets see.

I actually didnt think it was great. Basically admitted he wanted to keep Stacey and LuaLua but the club haven't been able to get it done.

Im probably reading too much into it but it struck me as a bit odd. Honest I guess like you say. Either way, we've lost 2 players who he clearly wanted to keep which isnt great.

Personally glad we weren't held to ransom over LuaLua, he ain't that good. More of a cult hero than an irreplaceable player.

Stacey going was inevitable with his contract situation. I reckon our original plan was probably to shift Stacey and beg another year out of JJ as we had more security contract-wise, but then Leicester came in big and that was that.

Surprised me a bit that we used the diamond both halves on Saturday, thought we might see a Plan B beginning to be put into action (e.g. 4-3-3 with McManaman / Cornick either side of Hylton or Collins). If Cranie is ear-marked for the holding midfield role (or possibly right of a back 3) as it appears from the initial evidence then we probably need to sign two right backs now, as obviously JJ doubled up as our first reserve there last season.

Speaking of the holding midfield role, kind of an odd call to play Berry there in the first half on Sat with Tunnicliffe further forward. I guess the thinking is you want Tunnicliffe free to press high which he couldn't do in the DM slot, but Berry doesn't strike me as well-suited to it being primarily an all-action box-to-box runner himself.

LuaLua going means we need at least one forward player too, and could make arguments for both another central midfielder or another central defender (I know we have Sheehan and Rea out injured but we had Lloyd Jones and Panter at CB in the second half on Sat, that is not going to be good enough back-up). Oh and a keeper if Stech leaves (notable by his absence on Saturday but looks like he has travelled to Slovenia).

Fair to say we've got quite a bit to do in the market still this summer.

Sutton United have signed Aaron Jarvis, will he do a job for us in the NL?

Deleted my previous response as I had rather hopefully read Aaron Jarvis as Jake Jervis!

No such luck for us I’m afraid!

Aaron Jarvis never really got a look in here so it’s difficult to say. Scored some nice goals and looked useful in the tinpot trophy games but his scoring record at senior level isn’t great, didn’t register in the Scottish championship in his loan there.

He’s a nice story and he worked hard when he did play in terms of chasing down and closing, but I’d be surprised if he actually touched the ball in a serious game here.

Luton have had their application for a new TV gantry approved by Luton BC. So on 2nd August you should have a far better view on TV.

At least we'll actually look like we've got a proper stadium on the telly now instead of just the beach huts being in view for 90 minutes. Good stuff.

Don't get too excited though. It is only for televised fixtures.

JD being the tactically astute sort you are ,Im interested in your opinion on the Luke Berry at defensive midfield thing?

We did it again today and played Tunnicliffe further forward and Jones pretty much confirmed he wants to keep doing that going forward. To my mind this seems a crazy move given what Berry gives in an attacking sense. He did do well there today but losing Berry in attacking areas seems an odd move.

Only pre season I know but i personally didn't think Tunnicliffe looked all that comfortable in his position and to me looked like a more defensive minded player playing in an unfamiliar position.

Like others with experience have said elsewhere - a foreign keeper new to England, in a side new to the Championship with a new Manager. Thats a lot of new. But we did need a keeper. Lets hope they've done well on the homework
