Happy to come out of that with a point as we were awful in the first half. No idea what we were doing for the Carlilse game or why Benning is jumping in on the half way line. That was by a long way his worst game in a Mansfield shirt. Angol was certainly lucky to not see red and Mellis again had to be subbed off for picking up a daft yellow card.

2nd half we improved and were unlucky with the pen on reflection. Very good save by the keeper. Still if we are top 5/6 at the end of this month I think we will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

Watching Steve Evans' post match interview on YouTube, when talking about how bad his players are at penalties, he mentioned getting his Mrs to take one and if Mrs Evans is watching she'll be on penalty duty next week.

It had never really crossed my mind before that some poor woman has to share a bed with Steve Evans. She probably has to survive his fat sweaty naked carcass slodging on top of her most nights. I can't imagine the the size of his manhood being anything to make up for it, probably not much more than a cocktail chipolata, and anything he does have will probably be buried in endless rolls of flab anyway. Poor woman, I can't even begin to imagine how she gets through those nights.

I bet a Mansfield Tuesday night away match at somewhere like Exeter is Mrs Evans' idea of Christmas.

I would certainly give Mrs Evans the most disappointing 30 seconds of her life.

Based on this he might not want her on the bench with him when Mansfield play Crawley.

So we were both wrong in that we thought we'd lose.

Happy with a point, shame Carver wasn't correct with his premonitions about how we'd be

I was in a way because you did not look anything like a team who will go on and win this league.

I think Evans has lost his magic.

I guess if you can play that badly and still easily gain a point it's at least a start :bg:

It was a good finish for your goal to be fair but there wasn't really anything about your team to suggest that you'll be up there this season. Maybe they'll gel over time but right now, no nothing impressed me and your manager acts like a complete clown and your team are dirty bastards, especially Angol.

We will be top 5.

I think we'll prosper more when there are games close together and when injuries/suspensions start to bite, but time will tell.

As Carver said, we were terrible last season and lost 5-2, this term we've drawn 1-1, so obviously an improvement.

Ok I'll remember that.

Oh no! I'm really scared to be proven wrong by somebody on a Internet forum.

Adam, we will prosper once Evans figures out his best eleven and formation, he's been our biggest downfall so far - even more so than Logan.

I'm just saying I'll remember because when the time comes and if you finish any lower than 5th, I'll remind you of this and prove that you were wrong, that's all. You won't have to be scared, just learn not to be a mouthy liar.

In before they finish sixth and defeat Carlisle in the final to win the playoffs.

Another week and another Curle gem, this time on Evans and Raynor - "They contest everything, shout and scream, the two ugly sisters..."

They do make entertaining viewing, sometimes even Mansfield fans think they are too much.

It's a good job they're so good at what they do

Sitting behind the dugout at field mill is just like going to watch an over dramatic play at the theatre...

At rochdale I just kept thinking i wish keith hill was our manager, was the part and so were his team

Haha, me and my friend likened them to Dr Evil and Minime, mainly because of the way Raynor would point and shout at whatever Evans had just pointed and shouted at.

This is Paul Raynor when he was a child.

It's not difficult to see why he turned out the way he did.
