Sod Sutton winning the league, another win for the tinpotters as Wealdstone take the programme of the year title from Stockport. Stick that up your pipe and smoke It. Another belt defeat.

Matt Gray won manager of the year securing a tinpot double

Obviously I want Torquay to win, but on the basis of the last few games I have either seen on TV or listened to on the radio, Torquay seem to be faltering a bit. I would have Notts as slight favourites.

In fairness I think they'd rather have the 5-2 and 4-0 wins during the season.

As always, a great job undertaken by those who put our programme together and glad to see that's been recognised today.

Stockport County.
Yeah, he's probably the best looking player we've had in recent years. I'm gonna predict he'll be on Love Island at some point in the next 3 years.

Like GTFCfish says, he always tried hard. Was unlucky to not score a few times for us. Played in quite a defensive team. Kind of player that I hope does well, but I wouldn't want him back here really. I couldn't place what he's lacking, but he's lacking something.
Yeah agreed. He's "not bad" at lots of things without being particularly good or consistent at one aspect of being a forward. He's an option, if Chorley weren't demanding such a high fee, I wouldn't be too despondent at him being part of the squad. I'm not excited at him starting for us Sunday though. WIth Madden out and the Hartlepool double act Armstrong and Oates, I think that is where they'll win the game.

I‘m sad enough to have listened to a Torquay podcast last night. They said it was very unlikely he’d be involved.
If that was the "Yellow Army" podcast then I wouldn't pay too much attention. If he's anywhere near fit he will be involved, he's too important for us not to be. Pictures from training certainly showed him joining in with the group so unless he has a reaction I'd think he'll be on the bench.

Ah, ok it was. It also had Don O’Riordan on, who turned up on the Notts podcast earlier in the week. He sounded truly torn about who to support.

Anyway, what a weekend. Big game for Notts, big game for England, plenty of sunshiiiiine and plenty of beer. Fantastic.

Until Notts go and fuck it up tomorrow lunchtime anyway.

Gary Johnson signs a new contract! Fantastic and unexpected news which indicates that the owner will continue to back the club financially next season. There has been plenty of suggestions that it was shit or bust for us this season with many expecting the budget to be slashed if we didn't go up. Can't see Johnson staying if that was the case so great news on the eve of the big game.

In less positive news:

"Torquay United AFC and Torbay Council’s Director of Public Health have mutually decided that under current circumstances, face coverings will remain mandatory for the match with Notts County this Saturday.

We recognise this may be disappointing but the virus is still in the Bay and the risk of variants is real. The Delta (previously known as Indian) variant has been recorded in the South West including Torbay, and evidence shows it spreads more easily between people and there may be greater risk of hospitalisation.

We are aware that a number of televised games have shown spectators not wearing face coverings. Some of these were national trials and others may be local decision making.

After so much work by everyone to keep infection levels low in Torbay, we ask you to support our decision to continue to protect you and all Torbay residents, and help keep cases down."

This comes after the supporters trust asked the club to relax this rule seeing as we seem to be the only place in the country insisting on this. We have 9 cases per 100 thousand people in Torbay!

I have no interest in England what so ever, dont get me wrong itll be nice to see them do well but I will be honest that when they played the other day I only knew 4-5 of the players and that was because one played for Notts.

I tend to, probably like most, ignore all other divisions that dont involve Notts. As Notts have fallen down the leagues my interest in the national team has gone with it.

Yes, me. Really want us to go up this year as next season looks like being harder with the Galacticos of Wrexham, at least one of Stockport and Hartlepool, Chesterfield and Grimsby with new owners.
you're right - this years semi-final line up is probably as strong as it's ever been - and will likely get stronger next season.

Fair enough, out of the 2 a Notts defeat would ruin my weekend while an England defeat wouldn’t.

But it’s rare if ever for the two to have big games on the same weekend so bring it on.

We were supposed to be masked up throughout but I think people weren’t that arsed about it and took them off after they got in, other than a standard mask tannoy message at the start nothing was enforced.

Yep I’m very nervous, if we don’t take a few early wickets tomorrow morning New Zealand could end up with a 150+ first innings lead.

Yes. Switzerland are a tough team to start the Euros against.

Are any other games happening this weekend?

First GTFC you only have 70 days before your back in this hell hole.
Jared, be gracious in your well earned victory. Keep friends, when/if things go bad the more friends the less crap when they do!

Cameron in for Andrews, I'm guessing this is to offer Moxeys old legs some protection from Bokdewijn
