Stockport County.
Not a big fan of Challinor the player but he's done a brilliant job at Hartlepool this season. Good spirit about them, built a good side. Think they'll go along fine with him League Two, nothing spectacular about them but if they can keep their necleus, they should be able to absorb the shorter transition time.

I'd swap him for Simon Rusk at our place, no question about that.

Congratulations to the Hartlepool lads on here.

Congrats Hartlepool, seems like you rode your luck but just about got the job done. Will be happy to see the back of your small minority of fans with their weird conspiracy theories and so on. Pleased for the proper fans though. You deserve it.

Really feel for Torquay. Both disallowed goals seemed very harsh and over the course of the season they probably deserved to go up after coming second. Also, we will end up playing them away on a Tuesday night in December as usual.

first of all, congratulations Pools. That was some game. Brilliant atmosphere from both sets of fans (shame about your bellends spoiling for a fight at the end end though..too many sherberts methinks.)

Yes, absolutely gutted to lose in such a way after pulling it back right at the death in normal time. Penalties are a bloody lottery and both myself and junior just knew that Billy Waters would fuck his spot kick up (I'm sure it went for a throw in)... then Danny Wright... I'd have put my shirt on him putting us ahead... but it wasn't to be.

Two disallowed goals and a penalty turned down. Goalkeeper scoring the equaliser deep into injury time. Both sets of fans giving it there all. This is why we all love and hate football.

To cap a bloody miserable ending to the game I was blocked in by the Pools coaches for a full 45 minutes before I could get away... sitting there fuming why all around people hugging and congratulating each other.... bastards!

Good luck in L2 next season. We regroup and go again ... to Wealdstone, Dover and Borehamfuckingwood.... whoopdidoo!

Time for a very large beer!

Hartlepool confirming my theory that if a club is ‘big’ enough it finds its way back to the FL eventually, one way or another, within 5 or 6 years.

Obviously Wrexham are exceptions to this rule.

The job Challinor has done is incredible,no disrespect but saw you has a non league club for ever like us.
When Ferguson signed and going on all that Darlo fan said about your debts etc thought it was backwards move, but just shows how important a good manager is.
Enjoy it and don’t come back.
Plus it should mean a bigger pool of players for us.

I should add that given the change in ownership I expect them to continue the trend sooner or later, just a little later than your Pools, Lincolns, Oxfords, Carlisles, Grimsbys, Mansfields, Shrewsburys, Trannys, Bristol Rovers, Lutons, Donnys, Exeters, Orients, Grimsbys (first time), etc etc

I swear I'm not rubbing it in, but this is 18 second clip is just, perfection.

What a day.

That's it, rub it in. In my 50+ years of watching Torquay that is the most depressing 18 seconds and like Soup, I've watched it over and over and still can't believe it happened.

No sour grapes from me. When it went to pens I just knew it wasn't going to be. And now I know how those Blackpool fans felt when we beat them at Wembley in a pen shout out.

My last words on this season.... proud of a team that was ravaged by injuries and still kept going right to the wire. Proud of a manager that took us from the depths of despair in NLS to the pinnacle of the NL with a team that wouldn't have looked out of place in L2 (when they were all fit)... and finally, proud to be a member of the Yellow Army who, not only yesterday, follow our team through good and bad and will continue to do so until they nail the coffin lid shut.

Enjoy the summer break. See you all (no, not you fucking Pools lot, you can fuck right off now and don't come back) next time!

COYY!

Do you know how much a daytripper contingent you had in your support yesterday? The only reason I ask is that on the tv footage, quite a few of the Torquay fans looked way too jovial just before the shootout, as opposed to all the Pools fans who were quite clearly shitting it. I'm probably reading too much into it, but I distinctly remember thinking "why are most of the Torquay fans looking excited?!"

You’re very brave as when we lost on pens to Bristol Rovers in 2015 I didn’t watch it again until after we managed to go up a year later, and to be honest even with that time elapsed and us having finally made it back it still made me feel a bit sick watching it again.

I think the only reason quite a few were looking jovial was because up until the 95th minute of the match we were out of it. To take it to penalties was a huge relief.... and we'd won a penalty shoot out in a play off final before....

I'm calling it- STOCKPORT, by 2 clear goals.
HAHAHAHartlepool have no chance. :ds:

I'm giving the Kiss of Death to Torquay today, it's time to forget What They Did, for now. The resilience and mental strength they showed against Notts will see them through. I just don't think HAHAHAHartlepool are all that, really. :ds:
Any chance you can predict that Grimsby will not bounce straight back up?
Cheers.

From our perspective I feel like Torquay are more family friendly focused as opposed to Pools who have a big young lads on the piss all day mentality when it comes to away days, not a knock on Torquay, just how it came across yesterday.

Extra time our stand was shell shocked, never seen so many dismayed faces, there can't of been a single fan in that stand who thought we'd get through extra time unscathed.

Yeah this could be it. More of a gallows humour/fuck the world mentality where you lot are from whereas Torquay is all sunshine and hilarious Spanish waiters.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Well done ‘Pools, great game, brilliant advertisement for the National League ( albeit to a committed audience ). Pens. is a harsh way to miss out ( been there, done that ), and you’ll need to keep the momentum to ensure next season doesn’t flop.
Good luck,’Pools, hopefully your playing style will fit better in the EFL.

And Stockport...

Alright, we know we're down here for the second time no need to rub it in.

Sorry, that was a genuine mistake!

Stockport were so set back by their catastrophic financial situation that they are allowed a few extra years too, but like all the others of a similar size I’m sure they will do it, they came close this year.

It will never happen, but good to hear Jeff Stelling calling for three promotion spots on Talksport just now

Yeah congratulations Hartlepool, as i said previously the only reason i wanted u again next season is due to Stelling giving the NL more coverage on SS.
You were the only real side who gave us a tonking and we always have problems against you so in that respect im glad you are gone.

You have done your time it seems.

It might you know. No disrespect to some of the teams in League 2 but there are big clubs in the NL which i am sure, for the rep of the EFL they want back.

2 more good sized clubs relegated again this season and 3 smaller ones promoted.

Edit i mean Harrogate, Barrow and Sutton
