Bricking it!

4 first team players out at the moment. Only Edwards who might (possibly) be back for Saturday with the rest out for the season. No matter what happens what a great year and team to watch this season. Most had us in the bottom 4 pre season!

More twists and turns tomorrow night before the big day Saturday..

Better to be bricking it than watching dead rubbers/glorified pre-season friendlies though…

If Rotherham win Tuesday it will be interesting to see if we rest players given how extremely unlikely it would be to gain the goal difference back.

But Saturday no matter what is at stake is going to be an interesting one. You've got an excellent recent home run and our away form despite a blip last week is brilliant.

Very much similar to 8th. From research though I think you get an extra £30,000 or so, which is impressive.
You really are one sad, bitter, little man.

You were giving it the Billy Big Bollocks about finishing above us earlier in the season. You've never threatened to do it all season, and spent the whole season in mid table, so just accept you're not as good as you think you are, and not as good as us, and stop making yourself look a twat. The facts bare it out, you're 11th FFS.

Look forward to finishing above you AGAIN next season.

Who knows, you might be right. A summer of spending ahead for both sides. Oh wait.

Nice of the EFL to let you have your own ref Saturday though.

You may finish above them again, but you have finished outside the play offs again which is another year of failure for your club.
You have underachieved.
Both clubs have.
So you can’t really dick wave anymore then Ipswich fans can.
Trips to Accrington and Our place again next season to delight you.

If you're referring to the disallowed goal, as one of your own fans says on this tweet thread, it seems to have been disallowed for obstruction on the goalie rather than the 50/50 challenge between Dunkley and our player, which Dunkley won.

The ref in general let a lot of heavily physical play go for both sides, and you gave as good as you got.

As far as the penalty shout for handball, that was a ball blasted at point blank range and our defender literally had no time to pull his hand out of the way.

Karl Robinson defines failure.

That's an odd statement looking at it from my view because he did wonders for us (albeit he left us 6 years ago now) and I genuinely wonder how his career would have gone had we stayed up in the Championship, before then he was actively turning down multiple Championship moves.

I have a soft spot for Robinson for what he did at ours as well. I feel he was somewhatlet down by us on our 1 year in the Championship. We really didn't back him very well with that team.

But he is a loud, moaning scouse git so :shut:

It's not really that we didn't back him, it's more that due to our head scout passing away before the transfer window opened we lost about a months worth of transfer work at such a crucial time, and then what we did sign after that happened just wasn't very good.

His Charlton move was doomed from the start really given who his boss was, and he seems to have found his feet again at Oxford.

He failed to win L1 with Dele Alli, Benik Afobe and Will Grigg, probably would have failed to get promotion entirely that year if Preston hadn't cocked up away to Colchester and then proceeded to take you straight back down. Wonders? I'm not sure about that...

Never won the playoffs in god knows how many attempts either. He's a bottler mate, simple as that. He'll never make it higher as a manager than where he is now, between 8th-12th in L1.

We’d have easily won the league had Benik Afobe not been recalled in January and one of the main reasons Bristol City won it at a canter by the end was our slump in February/March, brought on by injuries to Dele Alli and the Welsh George Williams. And we massively overachieved that season based on the targets set at the end of the season before. Add all that to the fact he got us to the championship for the first time, yeah I’d say he’s done wonders for us both on the pitch and off it given what it was like when he took over. The play offs are his kryptonite sure but I can’t agree that not winning the league that year was bottling it. I think we were top for a maximum of 2 or 3 weeks of the season…

It says a lot about how he’s viewed here when you look at the reactions at the end of the Oxford MK game last week. It’s very easy to look in from the outside and not see the impact Karl had here but he’s the best loved manager we’ve had and always gets an incredible reception.

What are you on about?

We have finished outside the play offs this season, yes. But again? We finished in them for the previous two seasons, so hardly again.

And "dick waving?" All I've done is reply to the guy who seems obsessed with trying to belittle us, when we've consistently finished above his mid table team, who have failed to beat us a single time since they've been in League One.

Usually one team is in form for the play-offs but all the contenders seem to be - impossible to pick a winner.

Pleased at least that the franchise have something to play for vs Plymouth, and screwing over PAFC is on paper the best chance of us nabbing the last playoff spot.

But I wouldn’t take for granted us beating Burton either if they already beat Rotherham when they were already nominally on the beach.

If form teams are the thing Wednesday would be where my money was going. I wouldn’t put a penny on Rotherham.

But I’m not a betting man.

Nothing really changes for us after last night’s results. Still have one home game left which if we win, 99% of outcomes would lead to us securing a playoff spot so it’s essentially in our hands.

Our home form is great (not conceded in 7 I think?) and MK have had a couple of slip ups. Sure to be a great day on Saturday. What we live for as football fans isn’t it?

If I had to pick a playoff winner right now I’d say Sunderland. On fine form and although the 0-0 at Home Park was a turgid affair they showed some glimpses of what they’re about.

Wednesday another on fine form but we played them a few times earlier in the season (league and fa cup) when they weren’t playing so well so I’ve not been able to judge them while they’re hot..

Did you miss the 4-2 game? We have been much improved since the turn of the year but still a bit suspect at the back and turn in the odd stinking performance (usually away from home).

Don’t worry. That was a one off. You will beat us comfortably. We are garbage at the moment. Fans are turning against JfH and each other as some are “ look where we are. We are comfortable in league one “ and the other half are like me and saying “Its dreadful to watch this anti football” so it’s not a happy camp at the moment.
2-0 to you.
No favours for Plymouth and the others so they will have to take care of their own business.

Lets just go for it. Field an attacking team and lets make it a bloody good game of footbal. If we lose it makes no odds whatever the score is but win, and win well? You never know, :sb:

He's well liked at OUFC too. However I do feel judgement is often clouded as he is such a big personality off the pitch people tend to get distracted by that. Moreover, the fact we occasionally blow a struggling team out of the water it often masks failings. He's not a bad League One Manager though, frustratingly he isn't an outstanding one either.

Positively his PR skills are exceptional. He does very well to create a feel-good factor among supporters which is commendable. That being said he has his failings...

For a side looking for promotion, I don't think he does enough. One promotion in a career spanning some years now doesn't make for good reading given the squads he's had at his disposal. Equally I don't feel as if he'd get a side relegated either. Safely, top half challenging for playoffs with probably about right. I don't sense (unless he had a masterstroke this summer) would we ever punch significantly above our budget. In effect he sort of delivers on par where you might expect. If he could polish his frustratingly obvious failings, he'd be a heck of a manager.
