Also, that Ross Wallace free kick at Birmingham was also fucking incredible in that run in
Beat Cardiff 6-0 to catch up the GD by 12 in one game, won away at Birmingham in the 89th minute which also stopped there promotion party. Incredible end to the season!! And ill never forget running on the pitch at full-time once we had made the playoffs and not having a clue who we were playing and when!

Uhh thanks for the memories of that that season... We managed to come fourth in a three horse race for automatics, and then easily dispatched by Burnley in the playoffs. Was part of our 9 months without a home win that extended into most of the Rodger's era too..

Our team that season would have smashed 4-5 past our current one.

We pissed it that season, Ebanks Blake about 20kg overweight and he still managed to bag 20 odd goals.

Darren fucking carter with a goal line clearance in the 93rd minute with the final kick. What a fucking end to a season that was.

I prayed every game that Darren Carter would be hit by a meterorite. Soft, useless c***.

This is what gives me hope this season. If we can do it with Irvine in charge Carter and Chaplow on the pitch...

The 6-0 win vs Cardiff which got us the GD.

Beating Birmingham 2-1 with a Ross wallace 90th minute freekick to prevent their promotion that game. We had 2 red cards!

Final Whistle with the goal line clearance in final game of the season.

That was dreadful, wasn't it? We arguably had a better squad than we did in the Premier League, but were a bunch of women towards the end of the season.

Great day out at Burnley, though. 5:30 K.O and half of us were crawling into the ground.

Can just about make me out at the front going mental when Wallace scores that free kick.

I'd driven to that game and had a PNE private reg on my car, so after fucking Birminghams promotion up that day I didn't expect too have many windows left when I got back to the car.

I remember going mad watching this game in a boozer , cannot remember which one though. It gave us a chance going into the last day but we failed yet again.

Think loaning out Lucas Joao is proving to be the best bit of business we've done all season, got 3 goals in his last 2 against Norwich and Fulham! The one in the 94th minute last night keeping us in the play off for now!

Important goal, that. Thought Fulham would be ahead of us come our game Saturday evening so that's a boost.

Saw on the highlights he played the pass for the penalty aswell, i gather he's making a big impression in Blackburn?

He's awful, but he scores goals and that's what we need right now.

Is there any reason why our game against Sheffield Wednesday is tonight and not on TV?

The fixture computer fucked up and put both Sheffield clubs at home on the same day. So one of the games had to move dates..

Newcastle really want this title race to go to the wire.
Yes they do.
Time and again this season, they beat teams away, allowing the opposition to throw themselves at us and still comfortably win without much breaking sweat.
Then at home, freeze.
We haven't a clue why. Some say Rafa doesn't change the approach for home games. And theres a lot of truth in that. Fulham were great last week best seen this season. But more due to our incompetence on the day than Fulham's great performance. Murphy came on, all of a sudden the game was back on. But Fulham saw it out. Too little too late
But happens time and time again at home

Good win for us last night, be interesting to see whether we can keep any sort of consistency going.

You've cemented your spot in the playoffs now imo. You have a very very likeable run in so don't expect you to fuck up now.

Wednesday and Fulham are trying their best to fuck it up. Great win by Leeds tonight which will give them huge confidence.

Huge wins for Reading and Leeds making it look like a 4 way scrap for 6th place but a long way to go yet.

Next two are massive for PNE. At home to Bristol City and Forest. 6points and we are seriously in with a shout.

I said a month or so back that if we were in the top 6 after our tough run of 7 games (that ends with Leeds next up) then I'm confident with our run-in that we will make it, and now we're guaranteed to be there no matter what the result.

8 games left for us; Leeds, Norwich, Aston Villa and the bottom 5. Unfortunately many of these clubs are in good form, but we can afford to drop a few points compared to Fulham/Sheffield Wednesday now.

Pisses me off that we've been shit almost all season. When we play like we have done in the last two games we are one of the best sides in the division. Something somewhere has gone seriously wrong to not get the best out of our players this season.

Tell me about it, you look at our individuals and what they've done now and again and wonder why they can't do it on a consistent basis.

Obviously it's down to our manager, but it's so frustrating as we've missed a massive opportunity this season with having Abraham here, who imo is the second best striker in the league behind Gayle. His record speaks for itself given he's playing for a shit side.
