Yep you've only spent about 60million and you're 12th id be over the moon if I was a villa fan. Imo thats not doing alright its fucking massively underachieving.
We also had a terrible, unbalanced side, and have recently hit form winning 4 in 5 as a warm-up for next season (which is all this season can now be seen as ). It's not underachieving as we were never going anywhere this season. Throw as much money as you like at this division and it's no guarantee of success, just ask ourselves and Derby. We're rebuilding after being royally buttfucked for the past 7 years, so yes, currently I am over the moon with recent results, as it is building a winning habit to prepare for a proper assault at the top of the division next season.

Fair enough hopefully I'll be coming to villa park next season as well.

Always thought Fulham would get in the play offs, they've looked like one of the best teams for a while now, not sure how it's taken them this long to get it into their own hands! They're definitely the side I'd fear the most in the play offs.

Such a good result for us in a really tough away game. Leeds v Brighton next week... cmon Leeds!

Genuinely think you lot could get autos... The only thing I could see getting in the way is your GD, it's awful compared to the top 2.

You hold on to that we'll have the trophies sunshine.

By one in 100 years are you talking about your trophies?

Sorry I forgot your trophy cabinet was as full as Barcelona's. I mean 1 league cup in over 80 years the success is incredible.

That's because 20 of our 22 wins this season have been by a single goal! That's an incredible amount of late pressure that we've soaked up and survived. The other 2 wins were a routine 2-0 win over Ipswich, and 3-1 over Brighton which is probably the most we've battered a team all season!

It's definitely possible. Our fixtures now are
Bristol City A
Burton H
Norwich H
Forest A
Preston H
Derby A
Fulham H
Wolves A
Birmingham A
Cardiff H

All winnable with Fulham and Preston looking the toughest, our game in hand is Wolves and that isn't until 25th April. It'll take an incredible points tally and due to the tightness of our games we're always vulnerable to an unfortunate result like away at Barnsley recently. But fuck me is it exciting.

If you play like you did at Molineux last season it'll be an easy 3-0 home win :cool1:

LOL @ at us being 5th. In the few games I've seen this season, we've looked bang average. No chance in hell of us going up with the likes of Chris Gunter and Tyler Blackett playing every week.

Gonna be hard to see past Huddersfield if the top 6 stay as they are for the play-offs. Be a miracle if none of us drop out with the relative performances of Fulham, though. Reckon we'd lose to both of those.

I'll still stick to what I said a month or so back, where if we're in the top 6 after this tough run of 7 games (finishing with Leeds in 2 games time) then I fancy us to make it. Until then, it's anyone's guess.

We are in terrible form, but playing all of the top 6 and Preston (A) in the space of a 7 game period was always going to be bad for us. Everyone has to play each other twice, but the fixture list was certainly not kind to us with all of these games so close. Just need to hope that we are not too far behind/out of confidence when the 'easier' games come.

Really starting to agree with the growing majority of fans Re: Gunter. Played almost 500 professional games as a defender yet cannot defend and does not get forward enough in attack. Almost sold him last Summer, and with one year left on his contract this year, it may be a good point to move.

Blackett is either an 8/10 player or a 4/10, little consistency in his game. Thought he had upped his performances in February and was starting to show good promise, but the last couple of games have been big let downs. Though had Ilori not got injured, I am not sure if he would have played nearly as much since January.

For anyone trying to predict what's going to happen, check this out from our 2009 top 6 finish.

Cardiff fans might want to look away

8 points behind Cardiff. We have 3 games left. Cardiff have 4. Cardiff having a +18 better goal difference.

We only go and pip them on the last day of the season. Same points. Same GD. We scored 1 more goal. Still makes me giggle

Agreed. Shocking team that. How we made the play offs that season is beyond me! Bottled it big time against Sheffield Utd

Jermaine Johnson's goal was one of the best celebrated goals at deepdale I've ever seen. And it was scored at Hillsborough :2thumb:
Remember I had a radio on with headphones. Just finished having a piss and Wednesday scored. Ran up the steps and shouted it to the world and crowd went mental. Get shivers thinking about it. What a bloody day
