Just now got back from Croatia. What a place it is, beautiful country and the locals are all friendly as hell. The festival was a very good show considering it what their first year, though it did struggle for numbers I felt but there was still a good sized crowd there. Stages need setting up better next year if they do another one as you could hear the music from all 3 stages clashing if you were sat at the beach bar they had which gave one hell of a headache. I'd definitely go again though, wouldn't do the camping though, trying to get some sleep in 25 degree heat at 3am isn't fun.

Where was the festival mate?

I've just got back from touring Croatia for the past three weeks and managed to take in Hideout Festival. That was on Pag Island, Zrce Beach.. not the same set up surely? It looked like they weren't taking it all down so who knows.

As for Hideout, I can safely say that it wasn't my thing/crowd. Still had a good time but not quite up my street anymore. My Missus and the other couple we went with enjoyed the likes of Major Lazor etc but it just wasn't for me. Highlights for me were catching Basement Jaxx (DJ set) infront of about 10 people at a secret gig they forgot to announce.... Nice to see a couple of geezers still enjoying banging the tunes out though, enjoyed them. Marco Carola always a safe bet and surprisingly B Traits was pretty good, after she had done her live Radio 1 stuff anyway. It absolutely pissed it down on the last day and most people didn't even bother rocking up but we went out, got wet, got fucked up and had a good time dancing back the years.

Know that bed feeling mate! Managed to catch a few of the bigger names and some decent surprises I hadn't heard of. seen Ten Walls, Alex Niggemanni, Audiofly & Emnuel Satie on the Saturday. Saw Andrea Oliva, Boris Brejcha, Dubfire, Guy Mantzur on the Sunday. Shout out to Hernan Cattaneo who did a 6 hour set on the one stage then did another hour and a half on the afterparty stage. Monday we took it easy because of the early trip back yesterday so only caught Amelie Lens, Sam Paganini and Andre Hommen. Was all a bit to heavy for my liking though so wasn't that impressed. Think Dubfire was the one that I enjoyed most.

Where was the festival mate?

Was in Omis mate, about 25 miles south-east of Split. Tiny little town on the coast that wasn't even advertising the festival being there.
I've still not seen Marco Carola yet, whenever I hit a festival he always seems to be on the same time as someone else I'd rather see. B.Traits always impresses me when she plays mind, seen her a few different times and she regularly smashes it.

Will be a fun one that mate. I'm going to the Butlins weekender in December for the 25th birthday thing, really looking forward to it.
Next night out for me is Drumcode in Motion on the 4th of November, which will no doubt incredible.

Still well. Where is the cream night? I've been out the usual amount. Got a bit carried away with four weeks in a row so trying to recuperate now. Heard a good range of techno and psy trance. Trying to limit the London trips and booking so far ahead in the new year. Might do things a bit more last minute but we'll see.

Nah. Normally it would bother me but the scene has been so strong recently I don't really crave it. Plus I've been busy disrupting the badger cull so I am pleased to have a weekend off now!

We had to get our Boom festival tickets which falls on my 30th birthday next year.

The one I had broke. It's really good fun. Not sure you'd need that high spec I'd probably go for something mid range to find out if you like it. That being said if money's not really an issue then general advice was to buy better or you risk paying twice.

If I had money I'd probably go for pioneer with rekordbox, or a set of technics and a decent mixer. I found the screen on a laptop a bit distracting.
