Wednesday eased off second half tbh, that game could and probably should have been an 8 or 9-niller.

Had we not sacked Robinson we wouldn't have been 'sucked in' because we were going down anyway, 100%. Forget the squad, we were dreadful. Much to do with the sheer incompetence of the manager over a longer stretch.

Who knows what we will do now. I fear our board won't make a swift decision and by the time we do recruit it'll be too late. It'll come down to who we recruit and how quickly.

Timing so bad. Mousinho would have been great for you guys ( and us…)

Crazy letting Taylor leave to a rival and pinning your hopes on an injury case. You have hardly scored since

From a League Two point of view, I'd be happy with any combination of FGR, Cheltenham, Cambridge, Morecambe, Accrington and Burton. I don't think any of them would be particularly threatening in a league below, whereas Oxford and MK would probably do alright. Anyone above the bottom 8 is probably fine.

Got to be honest based on today I don’t see MK getting out of it and previously I thought they would. I try and be as charitable as I can to our opponents but outside of their keeper I saw a team that was bottling out of challenges and really offered little at all. The only slight saving grace for them is the others at the bottom don’t seem to get points either and the bar for safety is dropping quickly.

Agreed. Expected much better with new manager, but they were dire Tuesday.

FGR, MK, Cambridge and Morecambe for me. Accrington always survive, Cheltenham will do enough.

Aye they seem like they want to be a possession based team but for want of a better way of putting it this is a dogfight and you need people who are able to get stuck in and they don’t have it.

Only one of them I’m iffy on is Morecambe. They seem to be quite reliable at home and just looking at the run-ins on page one there’s quite a lot of teams on their fixture list who will be on the proverbial beach in short order. I can see them maybe just getting out of it.

Morecambe always survive, I can see them getting out of it as it’s pretty much their business model. We’re down, bloody awful.

A small gap between the bottom eight and midtable now. Do the bottom eight have many matches left where they play each other?

As said MK were bad… very bad. They just didn’t offer anything, I’d seen their possession stats midweek and thought we’d have to chase them a bit but first half we had well over 60%.

Didn’t get stuck in and didn’t really have any play in our box let alone a shot of note.

They have some decent names on paper but maybe just all past their best, remind me a bit of Notts County in L2 when they went down and were pre season favourites. Big names but just didn’t work.

Bottom 3 could get cut off a bit then one of Accrington/Morecambe/Burton/Cheltenham/Oxford as it stands.

Above Oxford a fair gap is opening and Charlton upwards would need a real implosion now to go.

Oxford are a strange one, they just don’t seem to be turning it around, everyone keeps thinking they’ll pick up and aren’t so could be a dark horse to go. If the rot doesn’t stop.

We’ve got to play Morecambe and MK Dons next two, and our final two games are Accrington and Forest Green.

Two of our last four games are Cheltenham and Cambridge (last day of the season, as mentioned by Laker) both away, plus Fleetwood and Oxford at home...next up are Bristol Rovers, which might be winnable...after that the next six, not in the right order, Plymouth, Pompey and Wycombe away, plus Derby, Sheff Weds and Barnsley at home...think we will have been relegated by the time it gets to the last four games.

I don't know what the possession stats in midweek were but in the first half especially, about 90% of it seemed to be in their half and between their CB's.

god I hate that shit - can anyone name a team at this level that genuinely does the "farting about at the back" stuff well, and to the benefit of the team?

All I see at this level is players who aren't good enough to pull it off, and end up inviting pressure onto them.

Even if they only make 1 critical fuckup in 10, that's 1 that they didn't have to make, in a dangerous area.

Is there a special thread for teams so shit that it’s barely even March and they’re already out of the ‘relegation battle’?

FGR are making a fair fist of trying to claim the title of shittest team in L1 history, but sadly I don't think you're even going to make that.

This page only goes back as far as the 04-05 season, but you can all revel in the utter shitness of Stockport County ending up with 26 points in 04-05, then 25 a few seasons later.

Just looking at the fixture table shared above, thanks YEO YEO YEO , I think our relegation is likely to be confirmed when we play either Barnsley or Fleetwood at home...which I would much rather happen than going to Cheltenham for our third last fixture and give them the satisfaction of finishing the job.

That's cos 04/05 is when 'League One' began, before that it was Division 2

Sadly our farting around at the back cost another goal yesterday

April seems to be a top third vs bottom third month! End of March is a biggy and potentially the last day of the season unless it's pretty much sorted by then.

We managed only 21 points at this level in 1984/5
We were both bankrupt and had a succession of turnips as ‘managers’…

I thought Accrington were dreadful when we played them but mk dons take the title, absolutely zero fight in any of them. Bearing in mind that we have been on a poor run too.

Morecambe I think will do enough because they're fairly good at home. Cambridge look like they've been pretty dreadful all season and don’t look like turning it around. FGR already gone for me.

I think Cheltenham should have enough although we played them off the park in both games, yet didn't win either! Oxford look to be sinking fast but you can see them picking up a few wins here and there.

I think the current bottom 3 plus one of Accy or Morecambe will finally drop.
