I’m not one to jump the gun too much, and I like to give managers time. His time was up though. We had started to go backwards under him. If I’m being honest, I think he will be a relieved man. God knows who will replace him.

I’ve been over in Vegas the last week with a Villa fan who has been a steadfast supporter of Bruce, we watched the Blues & Villa games in the departure lounge this morning (or was it yesterday morning ) and for the first time he had to concede Bruce’s number was up, the camera panned on to him and I almost pitied him, he looked a properly broken man, he was never going to see the week out.

I’m gutted, I really fancied us to beat you if Bruce was in charge, a new manager who actually puts round pegs in round holes and plays players in their actual position should have that squad strolling this league imo.

No one has any idea of the thoughts of the new owners. But Paul Cook is seemingly under pressure. Two wins in 16 and ten points from our last 48 available. He’s been dealt a very bad hand through injuries but his team selections, subs and summer signings are starting to be used as sticks to beat him with along with his lack of Championship experience. The Royles’ have apparently spoke to their pal David Unsworth about succeeding him should Cook get potted. If that happens, it’ll be me done for the season and possibly beyond. Warren Joyce all over again. We’ll never bloody learn.

Parkinson or Cook next ?
One of them or Rowett. Think Cook has run out of ideas and lost the players. Like I said injuries have really killed him but he continues to play the same failures. Almost as if he’s trying to get himself sacked.

Steve Bruce to be appointed in next 24 hours, great news. Must mean he's had some assurances of something to work with.

Money to spend?

Or maybe because you've gained a few points he is happy enough to work with the squad now...
