Of course, can't wait. I fancy someone like Mark Allen to win this year after his Players Championship victory. Perhaps John Higgins to roll back the years.

Yeah its wide open this year.

Think Neil Robertson will win it. Not a fan of the guy but he seems to have been very consistent this season. Also expect Murphy to go far. And of course you can never discount Ronnie!

Same to see Jimmy White and Steve Davis lose out in qualifing. Think thats it for both of them. Ken Doherty looks good to make it through to the 3rd qualifying round stage though. Doherty was 8-3 up on Iranian player Vafraei, now 8-6...

Robertson has been the best, most consistent player in the world for a few years and it usually takes a good one to beat him in the big events. A player of his ability should have multiple world titles.

Teenage talent Luca Becel has just been defeated by Liam Highfield 10-8 after being 8-4 up. Quite a shock that as he has had a good season.

Looks like he won in the end - agreed though.

Very slow and dull.

I hate Peter Ebdon. Awful player to watch.

It also doesn't help he comes across as a bit of a dick when interviewed. His pace is 100% deliberate in an attempt to annoy the opposition into mistakes, straight out the Cliff Thorburn/Terry Griffiths school of snooker. The good thing is it doesn't work that well these days, hence his ranking.

Definitely deliberate. I watched him play Marco Fu at Wembley in the Masters a few years back. He got trounced 6-0 and he hardly potted a ball. It was great! I was a little gutted I'd paid to only see 6 frames but I soon got over it.

Ding would be a pretty dangerous draw for a main seed if he is on form.

So the draw has been made...

Stuart Bingham v Ali Carter

Stephen Maguire v Alan McManus

Ricky Walden v Robbie Williams

John Higgins v Ryan Day

Judd Trump v Liang Wenbo

Martin Gould v Ding Junhui

Mark Williams v Graeme Dott

Neil Robertson v Michael Holt

Shaun Murphy v Anthony McGill

Marco Fu v Peter Ebdon

Barry Hawkins v Zhang Anda

Ronnie O'Sullivan
v David Gilbert

Mark Allen v Mitchell Mann

Joe Perry v Kyren Wilson

Michael White v Sam Baird

Mark Selby v Robert Milkins

Really tough draw for Judd and Shaun. Can see a lot of close matches. Wouldnt suprise me a huge amount if Martin Gould turned Ding over In all honesty

Carter, Ding and Wilson from the qualies for me. Think McGill could give Murphy a fright as well.
