So its the China Open this week, the final event before the Worlds.

Joe Perry is out already and will have to go through the dreaded qualifers for the first time since 2013.

Lad I know plays Ronnie O'Sullivan tomorrow. Think it's on at 12:30 GMT so will probably give that a watch.

Another snooker pensioner in a ranking final, Mark Williams. I can't think of anyone I'd less rather face in a final than Mark Selby though.

Some one sided games in the First Qualifying Round so far although noticeably Matthew Stevens is 6-1 behind to Lee Walker ahead of the final session tonight.

Stevens well on the comeback trail v Walker at 6-7.

Wish this was on TV. Saw the Reanne Evans result, didn't she play on the tour a few years back?

I think she played in 2015. But I dont remember her winning a match.

Selected matches are avaliable on Eurosport Player which is £5 for this week so I have been told.

You can watch streamed matches on Bet 365 every session. They generally fail to choose the matches we want to watch though. Currently showing Nigel Bond beating the Woman's World Champ 9-1, when they could've had Burden & Duffy on which is likely to go close.

Nice to see Gary WIlson knock a 147 in earlier, would love to see him get through to the main rounds.

Cheers. Free streaming, or only if you've had a bet? I just had a quick look and see that their 2 live matches have ended for the session, so I can't tell.

All over this year for Jimmy White after a 10-7 defeat to Jack Lisowski which means he loses his tour card.

Sorry interesting games in the 2nd qualifying round.

One of Rory McLeod/Sydney Wilson/ Martin O`Donnell and Hammad Miah will qualify

Hammad Miah is already 5-1 up on O`Donnell.

I see he lost, as did Mark Davis. Peter Ebdon (zzzz) is through however.
Unforunately yes.. but Mr zzzz plays Michael Holt in the final qualifying round. Confident he can dispose of him.

A lot of new names making waves this year. The two best players from the new crop of Chinese youngsters Zhou Yuelong and Yan Bingtao are both through to the final Qualfying round and Bingtao has a real chance against Swiss Amateur Alexander Ursenbacher while Yuelong plays Ben Wollaston.

I see Reanne Evans looks to be out. 9-4 down to Lee Walker when they were forced off.

Gary Wilson looking like he might clinch his place, leading 6-3 going into todays final session.

I think both of the names mentioned above have very good chances of causing an upset at the Crucible, but for me Hossein Vafei Ayouri is the one to watch. He is top 16 quality already for me, and has a seriously bright future ahead of him. Got him e/w at 1500/1 before the qualifiers started, and I think he has a genuine chance to go all the way. Now in to 200/1.

Oh, and if you don't know already, World Snooker are doing a live 'Judgement Day' broadcast on Facebook and Youtube, where they are switching between tables etc. It was a fantastic show yesterday, if you have chance I would stick it on today

Is he that good? I know he had a very good run in the China Open but I have yet to see him play. Good to see another country represented on tour though.

I think so, yeah. Won the world amateurs when he was 17, Asian U-21s the year after, won the world u-21s 2 or 3 years ago, having a 147 on route. He has been denied a visa to the UK for the past 5 or 6 years, which has obviously halted his progress.

He's already beat the likes of Joe Perry, Ben Woollaston, Ali Carter and Dominic Dale this year who you would class as top 32 players at least. Backed up with his win over Judd in China, and it hasn't been a bad season for him. Think he's reached two quarter finals and the semis in China already.

He does have some off days, though, but on his day is definitely capable.
