Dramatic game with many talking points but imo the better team lost but I'm glad Rovers are back in the league and not in trouble this year. Were Still 4th in the league and we are much improved compared to last years crap

Very happy with us at the moment, murray is doing wonders.

The ref got it spot on with the first sending off (Easter). Superb dive with a half twist then attempted a very nasty head butt. Can't comment on Pearce, didn't see it.

We dominated first half but went in one down as the final ball was poor for the most part. Second half was a bit mental, I think the ref lost it. Bristol looked very poor apart from the first goal, no real threat except when we only had 7 fit players on the field. I think, in the long run, they will struggle unless they make some January signings.

Nothing wrong with Brizzles goals as both were good play but i feel the game was incredibly influenced by their fans in which the ref responded to. Hard to take that loss after it being in the 8th minutes of added time.

That's why the number 12 shirt is dedicated to the fans ;)

Sounds like we weren't near what we've been playing recently, but to come away not playing great and taking 3 points is superb nonetheless.

We were the better side overall and didn't deserve that at all!

We literally had 7 fit players at the end, Jensen could barely move and our left back Mal Benning could barely jog.

Yeovil should be rubbing their hands now, we're going to be missing our RB, CB, GK and possibly out LB on Tuesday night!

Thought Pearce and Hunt cost us that. No reason for Hunt to make that foul when on a yellow and no idea what Pearce was thinking. Nevermind, We were the better team IMO. Green should of buried that chance after 50 seconds!

Mansfield are never a top 7 side. Ok defensively but nothing in attack. Players are complete moaners, didn't stop all game from the first whistle! By all accounts it was one of our worst performances of the season. Even the manager has come out and said he was angry because we were so poor today, yet we still won! 4 on the bounce now, bring on tuesday!

Haha, Mate all your players did was try and get McGuire booked from that header he won. Both sides made it hard for themselves today. You were always going to win when we fucked it up ourselves and went down to 9 men. Still should have never of happened as it wasn't even a corner.

Not too fussed about away performances really, they're all about getting 3 points. Excellent to do that at Mansfield, who have been doing really well lately.

Onto Tuesday and next Saturday, couple of home games where we can put some good performances in and hopefully get some more points on the board in the process.

Bristol Rovers came with a gameplan and executed it very well. We passed them off the park for the first half hour even with them scoring! They then just broke up play on every occasion they got and we're taking their time and time wasting from the minute Easter scored.

Horrible team and I don't often say that. The ref made the game even worse though for both sides and all players got wound up.

We're going to struggle for a while now after losing the so many key players in one go. I'll be putting Yeovil in my accumulator on Tuesday night in what I suspect should be good odds.

Why was Lines not sent off for a 2 footed challenge? Just seen the highlights on SSN. They said Easter went for a dive and missed the attempted headbutt and just showed the handbags for Pearce's red

Damn proud of Mansfield today.

Let ourselves down in certain areas, especially when going down to 10 ourselves for being drawn into their bitter, negative play.

Mansfield were the better side today from start to finish in every department, but fell basically due to a good game plan from Bristol and our own stupidity.

Talk outside the ground was how the ref was wank, well - all 3 red cards were correct, it'll cost us in 2 away games this week we will probably lose. The only thing that did for me was the series of decisions to their goal - foul given when the rovers fans questioned - when it wasn't. The subsequent ball being given a corner - it wasn't - not even close. That said - we came back and rallied well.

In the end we were basically down to 7 men, and even a side as average as Bristol were going to score - and a good goal it was.

From a Mansfield perspective, I take away many positives - sometimes you get hit by mediocre sides at home.

It's how we respond to fixtures offering us Yeovil and Portsmouth away next up

Very disappointed to have lost that, we are a far better side than this Bristol one who seemingly came with a bone to pick and managed to influence a woefully pathetic referee.

Unfortunately we really let ourselves down second half by completely falling for the antics to even up the numbers instead of just remaining patient.

Rovers proved the smarter side after taking their only sniff of the first half. They niggled us, got in the face of everyone, including the man with the whistle, and it worked. Hats off to Darrell because they wouldn't have sniffed us by playing football.

Onwards to Tuesday. Interesting to see what side we have to put out.

The only thing that did for me was the series of decisions to their goal - foul given when the rovers fans questioned - when it wasn't.

Genuinely cannot remember a game before when the reaction of a set of supporters has so influenced an official.
I recall three occasions when the ref looked like he wasn't going to give anything until the Rovers boys and girls protested.

Good luck though cos it worked and they didn't do anything any different to any other bunch of supporters, I just think the ref was an incredibly soft touch who us home supporters couldn't influence as well.
