Think we only got 2 penalties last season. Morrell sent off v Oxford for a slightly high foot with no contact and some really dangerous high footed challenges at head height, one which didn't even get a foul in the area up at Sheff Wed already this season. Sometimes the refs are swayed by a big crowd at FP. But more often than not they seem to want to go out of their way to not be swayed by the crowd and actually give us nothing. So we all think refs hate us, but to be honest everyone gets rubbish decisions and ones that go your way.
Certainly missed this elbow on our keeper, although he wouldnt have done anything if he did

As we've found out on here with the Bolton "two foot over the line" goal, still photos don't always tell the story. If you can send a link to the video then that might give us a better idea? Not saying he didn't elbow the keeper on the chin, but a video would help.

Wycombe and Oxford are the worst for time wasting imo. The Oxford theatrics at our place last season was just extraordinary. All for a 0-0. Something like 10 ‘injuries’ in that second half last season all for them magically to play on 3 minutes later. The anti-football. ‘Boring boring Oxford’ was very apt.
Here we go again!

Was that the same "anti-football" that saw us as top scorers in this league last season, 3rd the year before and 2nd the year before that? The same "anti-football" that has seen us score 61 more goals than you since you joined League One three seasons ago? The same "anti-football" that has seen us finish above you in each of those same three seasons? The same "anti-football" that has seen you fail to beat us in any of the six games between us?

What is it with you Ipswich fans that makes you all talk out of your arses?

For what it’s worth, I thought you were the best team to come to Hillsborough last season. Very impressive and deservedly got 3 points. The away game was an entertaining 3-2 as well which I thought could have gone either way.

Cheers mate, yeah they were two good games, between two teams trying to play football the right way. But don't tell Ipswich, it doesn't suit their narrative.............

Christ, you're as boring as the shite you pay to see. 5 goals in 6 games, probably largely to do with you only allowing the ball to be in play for 50 minutes.

I don't blame you for the Ipswich obsession, but it's a little tiresome.

You wasn’t at the game was you Eric. Even your fans were saying afterwards it was the most negative they’d ever seen their side.

Yes, I was there, and stop making shit up about what our fans allegedly said. Most of them couldn't believe how triggered your fanbase was after the game, and by the sound of it some of you still are.

You wasn’t. We both know it.

I’ve no need to make stuff up because I was there and listened to your fans.

Whilst I take Si Robin's point, it doesn't excuse an experienced ref of 15 plus years in the football league failing in his duty of stamping out cynical time wasting and cheating in the game last Saturday....
If you think its bad here imagine what its like at Step 6 (National League North). It's fair to say we've been done out of 5 points in our first 6 games, due to disallowing goals for offside (which clearly weren't) and for really bad sendings off

The irony from last night is that our first goal was by Harness which would likely have been deemed a foul in majority of referees eyes!

Had Rebecca Welch do our game today. To be honest she was very good again as she was the last time she did one of our games. Very understated and always in the right position. Can’t think of any call she got wrong so fair play to her.

Excellent again, as she was last time for her first EFL game. She didn’t look to be the centre of attention and let it flow.

Fair to say our ref today was a bit of a clown, and barely in control of the game on several occasions. Peter Wright, a new name to me. Would be happy not to encounter it again....

The new Trevor Kettle has arrived!

We had a guy called Bobby Madden yesterday, who's in his first season in the EFL after leaving Scotland, where he was allegedly their top referee. I'd fucking hate to see the worst one if this clown was the best.

Among his gems were telling the managers that he would not add time on for throw ins, which led to Burton taking an eternity over every one from about the 5th minute in. He then added only one minute on at half time. He allowed our 17 year old centre forward to be assaulted every time the ball came near him, and when being booed as he walked off at half time found it funny and laughed at fans.

Second half when Burton stopped time wasting, as they were losing, he found seven minutes of added time, and played about eight!

Worst I've seen since Kettle and should fuck off back to Scotland.

Enjoy L2. Not gunna be third top scorers this year are we.
No, we probably won’t be. I don’t think any OUFC supporter is of that opinion either by virtue we are a weakened side from last season. Our transfer business was far from acceptable. Will we go down? Probably not. Will we secure promotion? I doubt it.

I fully anticipate a season of mid-table mediocrity, fewer goals (but fewer conceded) unless we manage to avoid any single injury, our returning players stay fit and we have a strong January. Sadly, it is a lot to ask.

We were outplayed against Ipswich last season in that second half. We weren’t great. Ipswich however were excellent. That being said, to suggest that OUFC are on the same level as Wycombe across an entire season or seasons for time wasting (which is essentially the argument) is a bit silly.

Worst referee I have seen in 20 years of watching FGR!

Absolutely dire, and in fact downright dangerous. Hope he has been reported to be honest.

Iirc KR's comment from Radio Oxford, Madden said to him that Refs', not just him, don't add time on for throw ins. So if a team wants to waste time then just take as long as the Burton throw in taker and take ages every time.

Madden also cupped his ear walking off at full time too apparently. Personally don't care about this but it does demonstrate an utter lack of professionalism on his part and that it is all about him (as his performance further demonstrated).

Were you anywhere near the scuffle that saw our keeper and one of their players booked...was sure that he was going to show a red to someone, although perhaps he actually missed most of it due to looking in the wrong direction.

Where I sit we were sure that a Shrewsbury player kicked one of ours during a goalmouth scramble...and I don't mean a errant boot connecting with a random body part but a full scale kick to a player lying on the ground...if that did happen both the ref and the linesman missed it completely.

I was in the South Stand, so quite a way from that incident. I thought McGee might even have got a red for violent conduct in the ensuing melee, even though he clearly didn't start it. Was too far away to see any kick as you describe.

There was another bit of fisticuffs much closer to where I was earlier in the game. Shrews were clearly trying to rile up our boys and partially succeeding, the ref just seemed entirely absent during such events

The "kick" was during a scuffle in front of the South Stand goal during the second half.

I wondered if it might kick-off on the pitch after the game as both teams seemed to be pretty fired up...joking with the bloke I sit beside that Frank Warren might be needed for the post match hand shakes...but fortunately it seemed to have calmed down by then.

I see that Ben Toner received a 5/10 in the FLP. I didn't think he was that bad, but watching the highlights there were a couple of shouts for a penalty which could have gone our way, and in all honesty he didn't have many difficult decisions to make.

After the incident that ended with JMT going off with a head injury (and it really did not look pretty), the bloke next to me made the point that the main contributor to the injury, Bowman, was "an old mate of JMT from Exeter", and this would stop things kicking off....

That said Exeter fans have made no secret of how they regard Moore-Taylor as a "Judas" for leaving them...

It was due to him following Tisdale to MK Dons after invoking a release clause.
