Another win over night and plays somebody ranked below him (only just though) in the 3rd round so maybe fancies getting into the 2nd week?

I do have a feeling that this year she may fall off the pace a bit and hit around 30/40 in the world. I think she's been overperforming the last few years. She doesn't have the variety and adaptability to be up there with the very best.

Edmund is playing well. Seppi next for him which is a good draw so he has a good chance of hitting the quarters.

Edmund's done very well. I thought Anderson was up there with the hardest first round draws as his serve is horrible to return and he's decent off the ground. And then to win in 5 in searing heat today...

Breakthrough tournament perhaps. I do think with consistency he is a top 20 player.

Yeah I'd agree with that, and he's certainly capable of the odd upset. Hopefully we'll see him kick on this year.

Edmund was excellent against Dimitrov in the warm up event before pulling out injured. I think either are a step too far at present but encouraging signs!

Excellent stuff and his attitude seems spot on these days now too. He sounds more focused in his interviews.

Dimitrov is indeed another level but I do think he can give him a bloody nose.

What a legend. I caught a bit of the end early this morning and he was hitting so well.

I wouldn't have fancied him against a fit Nadal but I think he can beat Cilic if he gets in the groove.

Regardless though, what a tournament!!

Delighted for Wozniaki after all those attempts, she finally has that much sought after Grand Slam and doesn't become another Safina.

I think there is little doubt that Federer isn't just the best tennis player of all time (not even up for debate) but arguably the best sportsman ever. The guy is defying age to show that, with natural talent and athleticism, combined with timing other players can only dream of, you can still be the best when most other tennis players would have retired. Three grand slam titles in his mid 30s. An astonishing achievement in the modern game.

I had him down as being past it around 3-4 years ago and was questioning when he would retire. He's answered that question and proven me and many others wrong.

Is Zverev playing? Haven't been keeping up with the tennis of late. He was superb in the Masters series last year and gave Federer a bloody nose in one of them. He could be a threat to the great man, but as it stands, yep you have to favour Fed.
