I don't see much PDC action these days, unless it's on ITV. I've been watching the BDO this week as usual. I suppose this is old ground for those who follow the BDO, but I really think the PDC has been poor this year. Aside from Scott Waites and Jeff Smith, what I've seen (not all, admittedly) has been really quite underwhelming. Imagine what it must feel like to be O'Shea, Fitton, Robson, (and to a lesser extent Hankey and Adams), watching the world of darts pass you by, even as the best players switch organisations. Horses for courses I suppose.

Bloody hell, wonder what price a Waites / Smith final was on Wednesday?

Edit - just realised I wrote PDC has been poor, when I meant that the BDO has been poor!

BDO was a very disappointing standard this year I thought. One of it's weakest years for a while. Losing Green, Norris, Dekker and Wilson in the last year has hurt it a lot.

I believe that's the last Lakeside to be shown on terrestrial TV. Tony Green will be pensioned off about 10 years too late. One-sided stuff this evening, Scott Waites had Smith (and Hughes) beaten after a set.

There was a couple of decent Quarter or Semi games if I remember that I really enjoyed, but the final always looked like being a rout sadly.

He completely shat himself, chasing a double all over the board.

MvG often wins games like that, as in without playing well at all. Usual twat behaviour from Taylor in there as well in not doing the done thing and shaking hands before the final leg, trying to make MvG look silly. It was all because he'd hilariously tried to annoy MvG by not going for the check out in that previous leg and saying to MvG that he wouldn't take out 144, which he then did.

Big mistake by Taylor not going for a finish, and Van gerwen got back into the game at 9-9 by taking out 144. I can't believe Taylor missed 7 darts for the match though.

Surprised Taylor bottled finishing that game - aside from those seven darts that's the best I've seen him play in some time. Could be a big blow to him on Thursday though, we'll see......

Disappointed that Chizzy didn't really show up in the final, didn't play poorly by any stretch but he can do better than that.

Quality match that between MvG and Lewis. The standard of these guys is unbelievable, Lewis is playing great darts recently but MvG had that 5 minute spell where the turbo kicked in and he wins 7-4.

MvG with 123 average, highest ever and it's actually a disappointment. He was on track for a 136 average after being 6-0 up.

His first 6 legs were won in; 11, 12, 11, 12, 10 & 10 darts.

Quite simply sensational. Will never match taylor cos of the money in the game these days so thousands more will be competing. But when he does that i think thats better than phil ever was
