Appears that NMS is getting the update to get it to the stage it should have been at release.

Anybody else got hold of Planet Coaster?

Saw a lot of talk of it being "to Theme Park management games what Cities XL was to city building games"... that's to say it took and old genre that's not been done (or at least, done well) for a long, long time and suddenly made a game as good or better than those that came before it. As somebody who poured hours into the likes of Theme Park and Roller Coaster Tycoon growing up, the allure of it was just too much, so I bought it. Played annoyingly little of it so far, but I like what I see thus far.

Though I did kind of break my park... I found out that I could get away with charging frankly extortionate prices for entry to my park and thought I'd start raking it in... but it turns out that if you do that, people at least expect the rides to be cheap as chips. So after spending ages making a roller coaster, I went back to check out the rest of my park to see that I was suddenly making no money because all of the guests were saying it was too expensive. Then my PC crashed and then I had to go to work, so I've got that to look forward to when I get back on it... yay.

That aside, the customisation options are great. You can probably build anything you want given the time and effort. I've not even checked out the steam store yet for creations... :o

bought an Xbox One S didn't I.

Got Forza Horizon 3 with it (which is gorgeous tbf) and Gears of War 4 (only ever played the first one and fucking loved it) - also got Sleepy Dawgs on games with gold and I love that game so will no doubt play it again aaaannnnndddddd got a month of EA Access so downloaded UFC 2 and I tell you what, it's a bag of wank. All they had to do was use the Undisputed series as a foundation and jazz it the fuck up but they've made the most horrific grappling system you could possibly imagine.

I like the xbox though, nice UI - I do think it's rather telling though that I bought it and thought 'right, let me buy these exclusives I've missed out on' (bearing in mind I have been faithful to Sony only since 2010) and all I came back from town with was those 2 games.

No one say Halo either, that shit is trash - and I'm playing Tomb Raider on my PS4 Pro - Yes I bought a PS4 Pro as well, I'm a fucking chump...and a 4K TV...I honestly can't tell the difference between that and HD...Emperor's new clothes innit...I need a hobby.

picked up Battleborn for £3 pre owned at Game on friday. had a little dabble completing the prologue and online and its ok so far

reading online there doesnt seem to be much difference between this and Overwatch apart from the fact Overwatch has been the more favoured over its graphics

for that price though its worth a go

got Watch Dogs 2 didn't I.

Can't decide if I like it or not. Play it as a GTA style game and it's a bit pants, there's no real enjoyment in going in all guns blazing and the story isn't particularly interesting. Play it as a 'trickster' and it's more interesting and satisfying, but again now fun enough to really play the whole game with your drone and RC car.

Story has you rolling your eyes a bit with the digs at games media, Martin Shkreli and Scientology all occurring in the first 3 main mission - although they're silly and overly-obvious rather than an attempt at #makesyouthink.

Pros - Marcus is a really good protagonist, there's a lot of variety if you combines the main missions with side operations and the various race types - collectables in the form of research points, money and selfies at landmarks help you customise your dude (there's so many clothes to buy in this game) and the upgrade tree is great and really does implicitly force you to pick a certain play style. The bay area is a cool setting.

Cons - No real standout main story missions so far which is disappointing and unambitious as even the first game had one of those very early on (prison escape). I'm a few hours in and we've seen exactly one short cutscene with the main villain of the game.

Yo I was wrong, this game is very good.

It's made the same fucking mistake as the first one though in starting too slowly and having an awesome main villain who is rarely in the game.

It also doesn't really point you to how best enjoy the game. You need to get the Quadcopter as soon as possible but the only reason I knew this was because I read it online and therefore saved up enough money to buy it before starting the main missions.

I liked Mafia 3 but it was repetitive as it gets - Watchdogs 2 is varied and has brilliant side missions (although complete GTA rip-offs as they're very short, easy and zany) that distract you from the main story (which gets better as you get into it, much like the first one).

There's no more rewarding experience in a recent game I can remember than doing a fairly difficult infiltration style mission with lots of enemies and completing it with only your RC Car and Quadcopter without every setting foot in the restricted area - which is why you're fucking yourself out of a great game if you use a gun at any time (unless all hell breaks loose when you get spotted) and also making it unnecessarily difficult.

I loved the Game of Thrones game. I actually played it before I watched any of the series, and then had to go and watch it all! Love all the Telltale games, but really enjoyed that one.

i liked the GoT telltale season too, it got a few pelters for the story but it's hardly like they had much creative freedom given that it had to exist within an already established plot. It was enjoyable.

However, it was nowhere near as good as their Borderlands episodes. I'm not even a Borderlands fan but that was superb.

I can see why people don't like them but they scratch a massive itch for me. I'll give the Batman one a go over Christmas just a bit reluctant to pay £25 as by all accounts it's not great and Telltale games normally tank in price after a few months and it'll end up being a fiver by Easter.

Got Dark Souls 2 as it's cheap.
Even as a souls fan i'm already finding this one a bit tedious tbh, not sure how much more time I'll put into it

Any suggestions?

yeah, i picked up season 2 of walking dead for free when it was a PS plus game, then spent a fiver on season 1 a few months after. completed 1 but haven't started on 2 yet properly. easy trophies too for anyone who is that way inclined.

GoT i bought for a tenner i think? was happy with that but christ its grim oop north!

Finished Until Dawn, got to the end with a measly two survivors! Will likely play again and see the different outcomes.

completed the Deadly World of Monsters on the weekend. was one of the freebie games last month on PS Plus. was actually quite a bit of fun. liked the whole directors commentary element of the game and some of it was quite tongue in cheek

worth a blitz on a quiet afternoon. think it took me 3 hours overall to complete spread over a the last few weeks. a bit of replay value in it too as there are collectibles to be sought after

Only played an hour of Watch Dogs II but I find it is better than the original, even if the cars have so much over steer.

Will update when I have played more.

Anyone played Battlefield 1 yet? How is it?

I'm a little late to this one but I got it last week and I think it's excellent.

I love that teamwork is central to the game. Working in squads in large battles make it great fun, although a little frustrating especially dying so often. I like how easy it is to set instructions for your team once you get used to it.

What I really love is the game's complexity. It's simple enough to pick up but if you want to be really good at it then you need to invest time in figuring out what works and how to use all of the equipment, planes and so on. I feel like I am learning something new and useful every time I pick up the game. I am having to constantly develop my strategies in order to get better.

Being set at the time of World War One, I feel that this is everything a war game should be. Forget this Call of Duty nonsense where you're either running around with a P40 or whizzing around on a jetpack shooting up 13 year olds, this is what a FPS should be.

I am actually really happy that I bought this game. Over the past three or four years I thought I had fallen out of love with console gaming.

Now I just need to get myself some friends so we can have a squad! And I haven't mentioned spotting. What a cool, cool, feature.

I've had it for a month or so, awesome game but also some very frustrating things to it. My problem is that I only really enjoy playing one specific class and am struggling to have fun using the others. Also the Hellriegel is by far the best gun in the game.

Brought Ark as an early Christmas present to myself yesterday (Thursday) on the PS4 and been playing it since. Known about it for some time due to Twitch streams/Youtube videos, but I'm not technical/smart/rich enough for all that PC Gaming.

I'm really enjoying it. Can't get the hang of Scorched Earth, but ah well. Sticking to PvE at the moment. Couldn't bare logging in and seeing my dinosaurs killed by some scum on PvP, felt terrible enough when I lost a Parasaur in a fight against two other dinos today.

So when I log in tomorrow, I should have two Dodos and a Triceratops.

My two Dodo's are now dead. :( But my triceratops remains.

RIP Jimmy and Timmy.

Got WD2 for Xmas too but have been playing War Thunder quite a bit recently. It's free to download on PS4, check it out if you like WW2 games

Figured I might try and go back and beat some games Ive stalled on too long ago. Just had one attempt at getting the last Platinum naughty cup I need to 100% Naughty Bear, an achievement which has eluded me for nearly 4 years, and endless failed attempts. I had one go and breezed it! I just love when that happens!
