I'm going to get a seat as close to the tunnel as possible, so I can applaud your manager, Dario Grady, for long overdue personalised support for giving the game: Geoff Thomas, Robbie Savage, Seth Johnson, Edson Arantes do Nascimento and the British Rail Class 03 Diesel Locomotive.

#Ray!!
I can see why you think Edson learnt his craft at the Crewe academy, and undoubtedly his style was very much in keeping with our brand of football but thinking about it I'm not convinced he'd actually have nailed down a regular spot in our first eleven so perhaps Santos was the best bet for him after all.

A nice local one at a club and place I'm largely indifferent to sounds perfect. As long as you bring Colchester, Oldham and Blackpool with you.

Blackpool and Dullchester I (sort of, in the case of the latter) get, but why on earth do you want Ice Station Zebra in this division?!

We'd only let Crewe down here if they had a hilarious wind-up merchant fan capable of ToP BaNtZ!!!!

Explains why Oxford are so bloody popular around these parts because top bantz is absolutely my speciality.

With Halifax out the league, Crewe are very much the junior partners in the X club, I welcome their return.

Where do we rank in the X club, out of interest?

Pompey, Luton, Oxford, Plymouth and Rovers? Oxford will most likely get second, and 3rd is between Plymouth and Rovers. So at least we'll be getting rid of two big sides. Worst case would be if somehow Stanley go up.
I forgot about Plymouth and thought Pompey, Luton, Oxford, Notts and Orient, so add Plymouth and there's six... Not sure if Rovers are quite in the to big for League Two category, aren't they historically as similar level to us, spent a lot of time in higher divisions bit not exactly strangers to the basement division.

Fuck off, it wasnt until fairly recently we had ever slummed it in the basement.

Top end of L1 is our level at least, which is where we will be in a years time

Live in't grim North pal, for my sins. Plus never been to the land of JD Sports and Carbrini. I'm sure it'll befit a man of my standing.

Ah, fair enough. Oldham are my least favourite club/ground in the Greater Manchester area, though I haven't been to City. No redeeming features about Oldham whatsoever.

Colchester isn't a bad town in and of itself, but the ground is the worst in the country by a number of measures and a dire place to visit. I haven't bothered with our last four trips there, even though it's far closer to me than Orient these days. Not like their away support adds owt to the division either. Worst travellers (insert Gillingham joke [here]) in the country imho.

Crewe & Blackpool are crackerjack away trips, though. Looking forward to the former, though I think 'Pool will escape and give us all a delightful trip to the town Mansfield wishes it was instead.

I'm hoping Blackpool come down, be a great away trip for League Two. Most of the relegation-threatened sides in League 1 are relatively northern, but Colchester are free to pull off a great escape again.

Bury can be a great trip if you jump off the tram at Prestwich and spend atleast half an hour in Sandy's.
Bury aren't in League2 though but who cares? Can still visit Sandy's anyway.:bdick:

Blackpool as a weekender as York are doomed. Been to Plymouth and Portsmouth this season aswell so can't be arsed doing either again. Was going to do Hartlepool but it's coincided with Chris Taylor's memorial bus so just a day trip but it should be a good one and a decent turnout from us for a change!

We've never played Oldham in our history. Is it worth waiting for?
Mind you, I think they're going to escape.

I'll be totally honest, because Exeter have capitulated twice against us this year and I am grateful for that. I forgot about Exeter. If I'm puting real thought into it then we probably have:

Oxford: King, Lifetime President
Crewe: HR, support function
Exeter: Graduate
Halifax: Intern

It's a prestigious club.

I don't think Crewe should even be in the club. They've just added some girls name at the end to fit in.

I don't regard L'orient and Notts C as big clubs for this league. If I were to consider them as such then I would also have to include Camb and Carlisle too, as those two clubs are more or less the same size as ours.

Edit Actually I think you lot are even bigger.

Yeh,Carlisle are def one of the bigger clubs and probably as big as Oxford but their gates have dropped a fair bit from the 7,500 they were regularly pulling in in Lge1 a few years back.
Both Orient and Camb seem to be enjoying an upturn in support levels from the kind of crowds they were getting not too long ago.A bit surprising to see that happening at O's,all things considered, but good to see,for sure.
Notts are a strange one,really.
They kind of feel a big-ish club in some ways: terrific ground, big city, spells in top-flight,etc but can often be seen playing to 3,500 or less so are they really that big?

I don't particularly look at crowds when making up my mind on whether any club is big or not because crowd figures can be misleading. For instance, there was a time when we were barely getting 1800 home fans ( the Martin Ling era) while much smaller clubs were getting more than 2000 because they were having a good season. This definitely didn't make them bigger than us.

But crowd numbers are good when you look at potential. Carlisle had a poor season last year but still got more than 4000 through the gates. In my eyes that means those numbers can easily double if they have a good season, when remembering how many casual/less fervent fans are out there, and every club has these type of fans. Otoh, there are clubs who get 2000 home fans and yet only get some 500 more when things are going well.

As for County, I know they had spells in the top flight, but I have never considered them a big side. Likewise L.Orient.

Just had a look at our odds on staying up...66/1!
So instead of buying that next pint why not stick a couple of quid on us?
Everything to gain, very very little to lose.
Best be quick though...those odds'll start shortening after tomorrow.

Nice try, there's more chance of you being in the Premier League next season than league 1.

Notts County and Carlisle are definitely bigger than us. We shade Orient, but they've not got the spell in the Conference on their CV (Paul Weller will be along from Slough any minute to disagree, I imagine! :2thumb: ).

Either way, none of the clubs mentioned, nor Crewe, are ''too big for this league''. Certainly, if we went up we'd be about the 12th-14th in the list, but equally we're about 7th-9th in this division. The bottom two tiers are very transient, and the one above is a death sentence to compete these days.

Let's all just agree that Portsmouth are, and that's about it for certain.
You sure you're bigger than Orient?
