I bet these people who are saying companies will walk away if we tax them to much are the same people that say we should have more confidence in how strong we are.

Don't think that whole thing will have changed much TBH. Neither of them made any massive errors. Her little quirk was talking about the money tree, he used fewer soundbites but kept waving the manifesto around.

Yeah, it was a bit bollocks tbh, both of them had an audience who had a point of obsession so we didn't get as broad a range of questions as we should have.

Thought I'd help my bestie Theresa out with a fresh new PR campaign.

Indeed, and if it does happen, we're all dead, does it really matter if we can retaliate?

That question was mental, who gives a flying shite if we bombed Iran back? We'd not be alive/functioning to see it

Amazes me that so many trivialise the idea of nuclear weapons, always blokes of a certain age too. Why?

Fuck me... back to nukes again.

As for corporation tax, he's suggesting a rise to below what other developed nations have, I don't see why this is so radical and will make all business flee.

Would like to know where these businesses are going to go. Other members of the G7 where CT would be higher, or other countries with lower CT which they could move to right now?

We need to be brave and confident in Brexit.... by bending over with low taxes and taking it like a good little girl.

I think this is why I don't like this sort of set up very much (indeed, I am generally minded to avoid such events these days). There are just too many questions purely designed to trip people up. It's fine up to a point - you expect a would-be PM to be quizzed on perceived weak aspects of their policy platform - but the combative stuff is just liable to make people defensive and lead them to prevaricate rather than deliver an honest answer and it ultimately makes for quite an unsatisfying watch. Dunno that anyone ever comes out of it any more enlightened.

In terms of pressing the big red button would that really fall to one person anyway? It's highly likely we would retaliate in my opinion but it would surely be an emergency decision between a number of people?

I'm a full Corbyn convert, he's really grown on me in recent weeks. How anyone could watch that tonight and still want to vote for any party led by that cowardly, debate avoiding shithouse is beyond me. She is repulsive.

Has anyone heard a compelling argument for spending so much money on nuclear weapons? Some of the public are so fixated on it, but there doesn't appear to be any rationale.

I agree,
The craziest bit is that we don't own the trident missile system and they are sent back to the US for maintenance. We are spending a fortune on something we have no real control of. Regardless of whether you think we need it.

The more I've thought about it, the more I feel as though Corbyn's biggest weakness is he tries to explain more nuanced positions in formats they're not suited for. He could have deflected the nuke stuff by simply stating he is willing to respond to threats with appropriate force where necessary, and theoretically if that response was nuclear then so be it, it's not betraying his position and it stops them coming back with it time and time again, same with the IRA/Hamas etc stuff, he tries to explain on a platform where time isn't his friend and he needs to just get the information across in far punchier fashion.

There's a time and a place for nuance, the very nature of these Q&As, the time constraints, the mass nature of different topics etc doesn't suit explaining a nuanced position in depth, he really just needs to have some punchy replies to prevent being bogged down in people trying to nitpick and pin him down to a yes or no.

We have this excellent candidate in front of us, with a manifesto that is fully credible and who is genuinely passionate about improving the lives of the vast majority. And yet for some reason all that some people can seem to muster is bile about Hamas, the IRA and nuclear weapons.

For so long we bemoaned the fact there was no real alternative. We finally have someone who's progressive and doesn't feed us lies and rubbish.

I know who I will be voting for - and I hope that other people have been won over by this plan and won't be influenced by the nonsense in the media.

Conventional political wisdom has you repeat a soundbite over and over again until the electorate get it into their thick skulls that you're both strong and stable and vote for you.

But Corbyn has done as well as he has by treating people basically like adults able to understand a degree of nuance. It's a bold strategy particularly when everyone in the media is shouting "IRA lover" and "weak" at you, but it sort of seems to be paying off.

Diane Abbot has been banned by Labour chiefs from television interviews until after the election. Shame they didnt do this weeks ago, Labour would probably have been ahead by now.

Don't think it's that close personally, us youngsters are a bit more volatile in terms of whether we'll vote. I'll be voting for Jeremy C in a relatively safe Tory seat, however I've noticed a lot more people my age are politically engaged and voting labour #topbyns

I can't even imagine being disappointed with 35 a month ago but that's where we are now. Been out campaigning today and it's been great. Incredible support. There's still much work to be done and I've got a busy week. Bristol north west Monday, Kingswood Tuesday, Newport on Wednesday and finally back home in Aber on polling day. Something truly incredible is happening. Just got to see it through now.

Even if it's a (weak) Tory majority, it's a Pyrrhic victory. Tories are shook. Brexit will be rocky. Strong Social Democracy is back on the agenda. There is real small 'm' momentum to be taken out of this election cycle for the left. We need to make this as close as possible.

Of course not. I'm thoroughly enraged that you would ever think such a thing.

Labour need to win their game in hand and if they do well who knows what could happen. Newport on Wednesday could be tricky though. The fans have been great, nothing could be achieved without them.

Thoughts on this? Are we allowed to mention that Theresa May agreed to sell weapons to regimes supporting ISIS?
