there's an election

Anyone see tonight's C4 News? Feature on Mansfield. Quite a few former miners saying they were voting Tory. Would be quite amazing if the Tories were to take seats like that but they still seem optimistic despite the dismal campaign thus far.

Not going to happen. We voted UKIP but that's because we're racists.

Interesting to note in the polling it's only YouGov factoring in the 'unaccounted' new registrations. Apparently the other ones are only going off the demographic data from 2015 & the referendum so their figures could have a far bigger margin for error than usual. Ipsos Mori has the lead for the Conservatives at 5 points. It's very close to being neck and neck.

This is such a weird election. From a 100 seat Con majority to a hung parliament, I'm not sure any result would entirely surprise me. Don't really know what to think at the minute.

She keeps saying that despite the EU saying they can postpone if a new party needs for time.

Will of the people, Brexit, will of the people, best deal, Brexit, will of the people...

Best bit was Theresa claiming she thinks speaking to the voters is more important than leaders debates... the woman who mostly does staged appearances with handpicked Tory stooges, when she meets "ordinary people" she squirms over and over.

The call for another vote went down like a lead balloon in a mixed audience. Encouraging.

Anybody going to actually ask her something NOT to do with Brexit?

She's asking to run the country for another 4-5 years, there's all sorts she needs to deliver on, it's just setting up her hand picked lines.

Social care now. This is a sticky wicket.

Still find it extraordinary that the Labour Party are trying to protect people's massive inheritances and seem to think it's progressive.

You only have to look at Lib Dems polling to know how fucking stupid the majority of voters think that idea is.

Unfortunately they're stuck on the dementia tax.

Can't say I'm very enthused at the prospect of another referendum but not sure why it's supposedly "stupid". The government haven't given us anything but the vaguest details about their Brexit strategy, the Tories are reserving the right to walk away from a deal (a terrifying prospect imo) so why shouldn't voters get the final say? Is that not the democratic thing to do in the circumstances?

Wow. She is awful. How has anyone at Tory HQ let her on the floor?

And there's the Magic Money Tree quote in response to paying Nurses a fairer wage. OMG. She is an absolute gift!

I wish someone would launch into her about mental health now because it's her party that decimated it.
