It's going to be interesting to see where UKIPs 21.5% goes in Houghton & Sunderland

Beautiful mate.

It is. It's the version of Take Me Home sung by the choir that really destroys me, though.

Ho-hum, we must have mobilised quite a lot of people here. I'm still bracing for a 60-seat Tory majority when I wake up, but to avoid the "annihilation" my moderate mates have scolded me over has shown incredible spirit, and the fortitude of socialism. We survive. We're cockroaches.

I thought this was going to be an extremely disheartening night but the rumour mill suggests Broxtowe might be turning Red.

I'll be fucking delighted if this result (IF it is as the exit poll suggests) is down to an increase in young people voting.

Newcastle below exit poll predictions. Suggests Tories might have done slightly better

So far the UKIP votes seems to be splitting over Labour and Tories rather than going mostly blue.

yeah and probably means Tories will get similar to last time maybe slightly more.

but not their big majority and also with Labour looking a bit more together than they were previous to election so not a good night to them even with a slight gain.

Does anyone else think that the BBC is sounding very uncertain about the exit poll? Even Curtice who is one of the managers of it does not sound convincing yet. I suppose this is an unusual election and too many seats are too close to call. Going to be a looong night!

Both hefty swings to Labour though. Lot of folk telling me Labour had lost the North recently.

I think after 2015, Brexit and Trump they're just being a bit more guarded

Where's Phillip Hammond been for the last few weeks anyway? I'm worried for his well being.

I see lots of Tories are saying they don't believe the exit poll. That is exactly what the Lib Dems said last time. Mine you I have not seen any spokespersons do a Paddy and say they will eat their hat.

Seemingly withdrawn from the public eye after being 20 billion out with his figures in an interview.

Middle class marginal areas will be interesting. I think Labour could surprise.

Dimbleby has been quizzing John Curtice on his methodology, and he seemed to admit actually it is possible still that the Tories could get a 30 plus majority. Peter Kellner added his two penneth, implying that it could, based on the first two results, could be higher.

I know it does worry me. Had to change the channel.

Yes, apparently the Conservatives polled better in the North East than nationally (which COULD mean the exit polls were still right-ish) but I'd be amazed. Surely they're completely wrong. Nothing that funny could ever happen.

Dimbelby has taken a fiesty pill tonight. He has shut up several colleagues, moaned about the sound quality and has now attacked a poor defenceless fly! He's very grumpy tonight, what will he be like in eight hours?

So, have the Russians played a role in the campaign, or are we so insignificant that they can't be arsed to interfere?

I fear Scotland will blow it and hand it to the Tories. If it's true that SNP lose all those seats to Conservatives I'd imagine it would stop a Labour/SNP coalition being enough seats wise over the Tories. If SNP do hold most and the exit polls are right in England then things could get interesting.

Seems so far that most people are seeing it as Labour v Tories with other parties being smashed compared to 2015. The tactical voting in seats where either Labour or Conservatives have no chance will play a big part.
