He's going to be restricted from the politics forum at a minimum, meaning he may actually need to use a football forum for... you know, football, not just regurgitating alt right talking points with no sources or cogent arguments.

Toddles got binned weeks back for the blindingly obvious and oddly enough discourse has improved!

Its not even 5 days since the result and I'm already sick to death of the ironic use of "strong and stable" and "coalition of chaos" used in virtually every press article about the election.

As much as I would've liked to have seen a Tory majority (for the purposes of a smoother Brexit process) I'm not that unhappy about seeing a significant Labour minority. I think they'll be able to provide a strong opposition to keep the Tories in-check and focused on avoiding the kind of pitfalls they walked into during the course of the election campaign.

Not sure about any anti-Brexit backlash either, if that was the case then the Lib Dems, who I understand were the only mainstream party running on that platform, would've substantially increased their vote share. Alas, I think the issue is settled (until the next election in a few months...!)

Also warming to the idea of the DUP negotiating a Hard Brexit on our behalf. I'm half expecting Jean-Claude-Juncker to get knee-capped during the course of the negotiation as soon as he gets on the wrong side of Arlene Foster... :animatedf:

The DUP forcing home the issue to Sinn Fein that they need to give into the DUP's demands and go back to the previous power sharing arrangement or live with direct rule under a Tory-DUP coalition. The DUP are already attempting to use their leverage in government to force the nationalists to acquiesce, which is instantly effecting the neutrality of the British government when it comes to Northern Ireland. The nationalists won't accept James Brokenshire as an independent arbitrator as he is part of the coalition and Sinn Fein will probably continue to kick up a fuss internationally, this will look horrible for May. If the nationalists get sympathy worldwide and in the commons, it could be a catalyst for another snap general election. Tick-tock Theresa.

If anything Brexit came secondary to everything else. It's hilarious watching the Blairites and so-called moderates try to claim this as a victory won by the Remain campaign. Social Liberalism: An Infantile Disorder.

I have it on extremely good authority that Red accepted a copy of the Sun today and, prepare yourselves, actually read it of his own accord!

Red - what say you to these accusations?
Guilty your honour.

First time watching QT in a while. That Isabelle Oakshotte, hardly a shock she worked for the Mail is it.
She was a Cameron biographer too. Definitely a MILF too.

Amazing how 1 week has swung politics in this country.

looking at the Daily Mail yesterday trying to claim the tower disaster should not be made political (after them for 8 years making any disaster political) down to the fact it could utterly destroy the Tory party and lead to a 1997 style collapse.

10 days ago it was a confident Tory party expecting a big majority, a strong and powerful PM and collapsing opponents all possibly looking at new leadership............10 days later the Tory party has split, the PM has 10 days left or they are going to force her out after a disastrous weak which has left her finished as a leader and only clinging on because the tories fear an election like crazy at the moment.

On top of that Labour seem to have finally after 4-5 years linked together and have some purpose to them, the leader's approval ratings have grown and he's very hard for the right-wing press to attack as it stands, plus the last 8-9 days has lost the conservatives nearly all the 'working class' voters they have spent 8-9 long hard years trying to convince to vote conservative.

and if the Tower disaster is found out to be caused by years of mass cuts......it won't matter who the Tories appoint new PM.

trying to remember a week in politics where things changed so quickly really.

Not sure where to put this but it appears evident from this page, so this seems as good a place as any - did both Alty and Scumbag request their accounts be deleted? If so, this makes me very sad :(

Only really noticed as was going to reply to a post by the latter which I intended to address earlier in the week but didn't have the time :(

TPP - Yes both of them requested their accounts to be deleted, I too am very sad they will no longer be contributing for the foreseeable future, both were a good part of this subforum.

That's a shame, I rarely agree with them but always enjoyed reading their points of view and excellent arguments they put across eloquently.
