Most likely already been posted countless times but people who are glued to their phones constantly. The evil smartphone ruins lives once were people used to have conversations now they just sit there like empty vessels scrolling back and fowards. Its so bad I was in the cinema the other day and two women infront of me sat on twitter, facebook, whatsapp ect for the entire film :S

Tennis is, self-evidently, a magnificent thing. A sport of power and precision, of delicacy and force, of beguiling geometry, and thence the taming and/or defiance thereof. It possesses too a directly adversarial quality which is rare in sports which are not literally pugilistic, and thus lends itself very well to a sort of psychodrama of a peculiarly introspective kind. To be immune to these qualities whilst boasting of which soccerball team you root for is to announce yourself as an oaf, a negligent philistine.

As with most sports, what mars tennis is the infinite layers of bullshit that have accreted around it: the flaccid, gentlemanly politesse; the repellent reek of self-satisfied old money; the unironic yearning for an Albion immemorial (promulgated via a 30 quid tubs of strawberries held in fat, sweaty hands); the smugness and complacency this faecal miasma fosters in those who hold positions of authority within the sport. A full hit parade would require further unpicking, but as far as mainstream sports go (sorry, polo), tennis is perhaps behind only golf when it comes to the wretched pomposity its blazerati and their hangers on.

Was saying the exact same thing to the lads in the pub last night.

I fucking hate this. Especially when you're meeting someone and they spend half the time on their phone... Like, seriously, sort it the fuck out.

This is quite an amusing video though:

Just want to agree with Jeremy Kyle being in this thread. If he actually had anyone on the show who could argue a point he would be stuffed. Vile man that picks upon people that can't defend themselves properly and usually have their own problems.

Also when he shouts "Well stop taking drugs and get a job then" which always produces a clap from the moronic crowd. As if its that fucking easy to stop a chronic addiction and sort yourself out. He should know as he's had his own problems.

My fucking oven. Turned the veg down to 1 earlier, or so I thought I did, the ring for the bastard oven control is right next to the ring I meant to turn down, so now I've nearly burnt the potatoes (not quite, just enough water to prevent that thankfully), and a lamb that is cooked on the top but basically raw on the bottom, turned it over, taken the veg off for now, and now we wait about another hour for the bottom (well, top now) to cook. Bastard thing.

And what's on the show isn't as it's always portrayed. Obviously can't go into details, but when I worked at a solicitors office one of our clients was on Jeremy Kyle, basically she got the standard cuntish treatment, however her dad had been prostituting her out which wasn't mentioned. It's essentially a showcase to laugh at people who have been put into shit places in life.

Also, don't get me started on the lie detector test. Is it not stated it's 97% accurate, so therefore if that is the case then statistically 3/100 people on there have had misleading results. In reality the thing is complete and utter horseshite. It's ruining lives over a fallacy. Wicked.

Got to be better than the Premier League forum...

It's all either Liverpool and United fans bickering, a supposed Macclesfield (ahem, Man City) fan usually gets involved too, or it's everyone taking the piss out of Chelsea/Man United/Man City/Arsenal/Liverpool, whichever has had a bad result that week. Most threads turn into Liverpool/Man United bickering though. Great fun it is.

Then again, I don't really fancy discussing who's away attendance is bigger either.

EDIT: Oh, and you have El Guapo...
Be a nice change get of pace for you next year when you are perusing the championship forum mate. :D

Our ovens been on the blink for months now waiting for January to get a new one. Grill and hob still works so it'll do in the meantime.

 as I said, it'll be bickering over away attendances and the other clubs arguing over who's second biggest in the league. :fish:

Oh, ours is fine, it's just the placing of the knobs that I have an issue with. Then again, we did get it for £30...

When you join in a serious thread and then it gets going and you're one of the main people debating the subject of great import, but then you totally lose interest and really can't be arsed thinking about it anymore, let alone posting about it.

Why the fuck would anyone even agree to go on the show. Get what you deserve if you go on it imo.

The people who go on it are idiots, but idiots generally don't need or deserve to be publicly harangued. It worries me that a show based around the idea of humiliating people who are for the most part poor and lacking in education gets any sort of decent viewing figures.

Presumably the science thread. dunno why though, as Herts said it was a debate...just cos someone counters your argument it ain't something to take personally. And I dont think either me or silky were patronising or offensive but hey ho...probably have been now

I don't think he's said that, just that he's lost interest.

My friends went on Trisha about their daughters out of control behaviour about 10 years ago and got well stitched up.

I was phoned by them once, but I turned it down. Didn't fancy getting mugged off in front of literally 100s of viewers.
(Didn't fancy going to Norwich either, if I am honest)

Christmas TV. What a pile of seemingly never ending pony, and that's just the new stuff.

Might watch Dr Who, though that might be gash, but Call the Midwives, Strictly, Mrs Browns Boys etc FFS!!!

Hate is a tad strong but Disney Pixar films. Watching Finding Nemo and it's worse than I remember. Massively overrated.

Cheese & Biscuits after that comment. One cannot hate (or merely dislike) the studios that brought you Toy Story, A Bugs Life or Monsters Inc to name 3.
