How close are your kitchens? Unless the neighbours are having a bbq I don't recall ever smelling what they're cooking.
I don't know, I don't socialize with my neighbours. The windows were open and it was quite windy, guess that's how I got that delicious smell.

Brother in law suffers from gout once ever year or so, once you have it it doesn't go away, it just goes into remission but you can expect it back again at some point. He says it's the most painful thing he ever had.

Worst pain at night I've ever felt was my frozen shoulder. I used to sleep for only something like 30 mins before my right shoulder froze up and woke me up. I still feel it sometimes, esp. when lifting heavy things, but thankfully nothing like it was before.

Re. kidney stones, I went to my gp and he ordered me a blood test as he thought I must have some in my gall bladder, as the symptoms I was having were exactly the same. Turns out I didn't have any KS and it was more likely an infection. But yeah, those couple of months or so when my gallbladder was hurting was sheer hell.

One of my neighbours had gout in his leg, and yep, it sure is painful as I could see it in his eyes. Hope you get over this quickly Mowgli.

I thought you only got gout if you ate pheasant and port all day like the rich lot used to do in the 18th century.
