Note to TV execs; Anything that starts with 'The Great' is going to be shite.

Yes, those remakes were shite. Those shows were a product of a different era, why bring them back? Can you imagine trying to rehash "On The Buses"?

I really enjoyed the Goodnight Sweetheart episode. Nicholas Lyndhurst back to his sparkling best.

I only watched 15 mins of the Porridge remake and it was absolutely woeful. God knows what the rest of them were like.

The 'Till Death us do Part' one wasn't up to much either. Personally think it's very difficult to recreate shows and films to a standard where you enjoy to the same degree as the original. One exception that worked for me was Cape Fear...original had Robert Mitchum as Max Cady in the remake De Niro filled that part. Really enjoyed both of them.

Indeed, but I'd say the original Cape Fear is better than the remake, its far more terrifying, racy and suggestive than the Scorsese version.

The remakes of The Thing and The Fly are much better than their earlier versions however.

I've come to the conclusion that original writing and creativity in mainstream comedy has given up and died. Rehashing "classics" like porridge makes no sense.

Nah. The remake of The Thing was shite in comparison to Carpenter's.

I meant Carpenter's one in comparison with the fifties film. I didn't know there was another Thing film done tbh.

It was apparently to 'celebrate' the 60th anniversary of Hancock's Half Hour. Yeah.

Not being able to sleep because it's too hot. Not likely to be a problem again for a while, but it shouldn't still be happening in September.

A problem we rarely get north of the border. I think perhaps a couple of times this year but really no more than that in my neck of the woods......Thank fuck....:bg:

Well that boob job you made her get is probably giving her severe back trouble. I'd moan too! Nobody needs 3 stone tits.

When the inevitable happens and my house gets raided and my laptop taken I can't be arsed to explain why I have a search for fat (mum) tits on a cushion
