My cat scratching my arms all the time making it seem to strangers who see my forearms and wrists that I really don't like my veins being inside my body.

Haha, I have this too, though I let my cat play and bite my right arm when we he is on his daft half hour. Afterwards my right hand and arm are torn to shreds, god knows what people think when they see it, probably that I'm a groper or something!

Does groper have another meaning up North? Why would copping a feel leave your arm in shreds?

I went on an elephant trek in Thailand years ago, before I knew better. Wouldn't again, having found out how they train/tame them.

Didn't bother with Tiger Kingdom either. The number of grinning fools that have though. Nice pics guys. :ohn:

Did the same re the elephant trek, not something id entertain doing now.

Re the Tiger Kingdom, totally pisses me off too. A lad at uni is massively into conservation but you go on his facebook and hes laid grinning like a fool next to a tiger. It doesn't take a brainiac to realise that that's not natural and the poor thing is probably drugged up to its eyeballs to stop it killing some buffoon that wants a picture taken with a wild animal.

I've been on a camel ride and they had all cut up knees from letting people on and off all day everyday, dunno how arsed they are by it.

One spat on the back of my sisters head though, enjoyed that.

Can't believe people from different places pronounce things differently, that would never happen in this country.

Yes, but at least they're usually similar in some way... Where does the I go in aluminium? Why on earth would you pronounce vehicle as vee-hickul anti as ant-I? No other words in the language use those rules. I just don't get it, it's not even like the scone debate, as there are genuine English grammatical rules that are in favour of both pronunciations.

Okay, the American accent then. Does that meet better expectations for you?

(Though most southern accents on a girl do admittedly make me melt.)

Expand that to groups of people who stand right near a busy anything. Doorways especially. You always get utter c*** stood talking in doorways. Why are these people allowed to live on the same planet as the rest of us?

Where does the I go in aluminium?

EXCITING FACT: The British chemist, Humphrey Davy actually proposed the name aluminum for the element, prior to aluminium being adopted (largely to conform with other elements which also had the -ium suffix). It sounds wrong to British ears but there's no particularly good reason why we should favour the -ium suffix over the -um variant.

I hope this post was ALUMINATING

"All Request" radio shows.

Hours of shite like Kool and the Gang and The Wurzels. There's not enough Chas 'n' Dave fans listening to Radio 2 these days.

The circus surrounding the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. I like boxing and I'm as excited as the next casual boxing fan at the prospect of these two going toe to toe, so it's not so much a dislike for the fight as it is a general befuddlement at the prices being charged not just to be in the arena but to watch it in a bar in Vegas too. $5.5k to be in the arena? $400 to watch it in the bar of a Vegas hotel?

Maybe I'm alone in this line of thinking but if I was in Vegas and I was determined to spunk five grand it wouldn't be at a boxing match, fight of the century or not.

Hope it lasts half a round.

I don't understand the hype over boxing at all so the extra hype over this is even more bizarre to me.

The money being mentioned is obscene. Were they really selling tickets to the weigh in?
