If people want to have Superbowl parties and have fun, why should we get upset? Let people have their fun. Stop being a misery.

Same could be said about most of the posts in this thread, Shirley?

Bandwagon jumping is lame, that's what I'm getting at.

I hate people that complain about people watching and commenting on the super bowl and for some reason feel the need to tell us they're going to bed...

Agree with this. i'm looking for a job at the moment as well and it is mind numbing trawling through job websites but has to be done.I avoid using the Direct Gov job site though.Thankfully i should be starting a new job in about 3 weeks.Just waiting for confirmation.

When people try put on a edgy persona.

Be yourself. If you're boring, pick up knowledge and become interesting.

The Gridiron and everyone pretending to like it because its fashionable right now.

EDIT: I think I'll clarify what I'm saying before someone gets butthurt. I looked on Facebook this morning and spent a good 5 minutes wading through "OMFGGOSEAHAWKS" and "WTFBBQWHATAGAMELOL" from people who don't even like sport normally. The sheep mentality has got into it now. People are having Superbowl parties, ffs.

And I also genuinely can't stand Gridiron, but meh.

To be fair, more often than not, I have this mentality towards people. I don't watch NFL for the most part, but I always tend to check out the superbowl every year, most of the time turning it off to go to sleep at about half time. However, I didn't actually start watching it until the final quarter last night, and I must admit, it's about as drawn into an NFL game as I've ever been. I wasn't aware I could enjoy the sport that much... fuck me, I didn't even really know the rules 3 or 4 years ago, and I'm pretty sure I've only got a vague understanding of them now.

But yeah, I'll admit, I did fall for its drama last night... though it did seem to be a particularly exciting game. Still doesn't stop me cringing at mate who have superbowl parties though. This being said, I'll bed that some people would feel the same about me getting together with people to stay up and watch WWE PPV's live. Or like... paying half a grand for tickets to go and watch it live... o_O

A pub in Preston was charging £5 entry last night to watch it...

From what I've heard, it was absolutely rammed in there aswell!

Yeah, I can imagine. A couple places in Plymouth actually do the same for WWE PPV's sometimes.

It's not exactly bandwagon jumping though. For example, I'm sure there are plenty of people who watch the World Cup final or the Wimbledon final but don't otherwise watch football or tennis. They're just casual fans who only watch the biggest events, I don't see why the Superbowl is any different from that.

Have no problem with people staying up and trying to enjoy it, it's the pricks who stay up and watch it just to ridicule it and make unfunny remarks about how stupid it is, despite the fact no sport makes any real sense half the time.

As someone who endured the nightmare job search for a long time, I strongly recommend having a go at a civil service job. Obviously there aren't as many opportunities now as there were a few years ago, but there's still a good amount available at any given time. Definitely a good option for a recent graduate or someone early in their career. Just take anything you can get first up, get 6-12 months under your belt, then move into something that really interests you on promotion.

Very straightforward application method too. Competency framework here: http://www.civilservice.gov.uk/wp-c...il-Service-Competency-Framework-July-2012.pdf

Use the STAR technique for demonstrating competencies (explain the Situation, outline the Task you had to complete, detail the Action you took, describe the Result).

Making goonerz cry
The day after the Superbowl. Actually the entire NFL off-season.

I miss it already. :(
Ye I have this feeling today. I tried talking to people at work about it but all they had to say was it was just a shit version of rugby and they fell asleep after the national anthem. Pricks.

When I were a kid pretty much every bush or hedge you walked past had a few pages of a seedy porno mag tucked away in there somewhere. You don't see that anymore. Broken Britain.

When we were in the park next to primary school we found a big binliner bag full of porn mags.
We tore pages out and went handing them out for 5p each.

I always wonder how people lived teenage life without a mobile phone. It must have been a difficult time.

I watched a remarkable amount of late night French cinema on Channel 4 in my teens.

Online queues for tickets. 2 hours watching nothing happen with a few people in a forum saying they've bought theirs, fuck off!

Jesus, after recently buying tickets for all of my wrestling stuff, THIS. Both me and my brother set up on a PC, a laptop and two phones... took us 6 and a half hours altogether to get decent Wrestlemania tickets, another 3 hours or so for Raw tickets, 3 hours for Hall of Fame tickets that we didn't even get and another half an hour or so for Axxess tickets. I get that none of this will mean anything to non-wrestling fans, but basically, that's a hell of a lot of time to be sat constantly finding fuck all when there are actually seats out there.
