I'm asking him how it tastes, whether its strong, sweet, smoky, fruity etc. Whisky is the best drink in the world hands down.

That was my specialist review for connoisseur whiskey website, but for a layman's version...

I'm asking him how it tastes, whether its strong, sweet, smoky, fruity etc. Whisky is the best drink in the world hands down.

It's an old style Speyside, with very noticeable peaty and smokey notes (but not to the level of Lagavulin, Laphroaig - subtler) on the taste, but with prevailing fruitcake and cocoa notes hitting the tongue on the swallow. It's very, very good. This 15 year old was £50 but there's a cheaper 12 year which I tasted, and to be honest, whilst the age does it's duty, the 12 year is just as palatable. I'd highly recommend it SALTIRE, if you see it get yourself a bottle.

Ok mate that does sound rather excellent, I have most of the bottles of Ardbeg and Bunnahabhain to finish first, but I'm always on the lookout for good whisky. Always wanted to try Lagavulin as well as my brother-in-law sampled it and I smelt the cork of it and have been after it ever since. Got me in the mood of having a few drams now, any excuse eh!

I love a bit of Ralfy, he's a waffler but he's got quite a soothing and relaxing voice and he does know his whiskies!
Good to see it got a decent score
