I bought FM15 yesterday after a 3 year absence from the game, and it reminded me of the sort of things I used to do whilst playing the game that I wouldn't have done if somebody else was in the room with me at the time.

The two main things I remember;

- Occasionally hitting inanimate objects and shouting when we conceded.

- Commentating out loud throughout the games.

It's too early to tell yet as to whether I'll carry on these behaviours playing FM15 at the age of 24... :emb:

Not football manager, but on FIFA 15, last game of the season, a win would clinch the title for me. I was Spurs playing Burnley, who deep in relegation mire were putting up an amazing fight. Then the invisible sub bug strikes. Ashley fucking Barnes gets subbed on, but goes invisible. He gets the ball at his feet and I just can't tackle him for shit. Dribbles through my team, scores in the 90th minute.

My controller no longer works.

Being annoyed at a player in real life for performing poorly for me on FM was always a weird one.

  • Trying to ignore the fact my team have just conceded a goal when in a bad run to try and stay positive and not go mental.
  • Appealing for offside with my hand raised.
  • Staying in exactly the same position during games when in a good run.
  • Watching the highlight come up and going, "we're going to concede here" *concedes* "YEP KNEW IT".
  • Holding a narrow lead and pausing the game out of panic when the opposition miss a good chance and then just sitting there afraid to press play.

Pleased/Relieved to see others read the cup draws out one by one.

I am ashamed to say I have also made up terrace chants for my players and sing them when that player scores. :animatedf:

If I'm in an important match and I'm winning and there's 5-10 mins left, I'll leave the room. Can't handle the pressure. I also like to act out press conferences because I'm a bit weird.

Ah was waiting for a thread of this nature to pop up.

FM11, Championship Play off Final. Mansfield v Forest, 2-1 going into the 95th minute and Forest equalised, I'd gone on like an 11 match winning run just to get into the Play offs, Narrowly beat West Brom in the Semi's by 1 goal and then Forest fucking score and ruin all my fucking dreams. I punched my bedroom wall and ended up going to A&E and I'd broke my wrist.

Still to this day my Mum thinks I actually did fall off my bed and landed on it awkwardly. Nottingham fucking Forest

That goal only made it 2-2 though, surely?

It did, But I was down to 10 men. I lost 5-2 in the end, and I've still never finished that save.

I think I've been guilty of all of these at some point. Particularly the first and fourth.

Creating complex characters for my manager profiles. Among the most successful were the urbane Italian Giancarlo Milanese, and the dour Glaswegian Tommy McCutcheon. Brasiliero Flairinho's gung-ho spell in charge of Stoke was rather less successful.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Well having played since 1993-4 is many of them above, but one which sticks even today 20 years later is accusing my computer of blatantly cheating, I even do that now when you suddenly collapse at end of season or lose a vital game etc, etc..............computer did it on purpose as if its some sneaky evil b*stard

I embarrassingly talk to my players as the match is going on as if it'll make ANY difference.

Someone else i knew used to have goal music minimised on YouTube in the background and replay it everytime his team scored at home.
