I see Crawley and Barrow have not entered a u18’s in the Youth FA Cup, how tin pot can clubs get.

Does three and a half count? Asking for a friend…

We can pass it off as done now as externally it’s looking complete at least, ready for the Big Robbie Williams gig next summer.

Got to have run the Sagrida Familia close for construction time!

Pretty rich for a club that has not been above this level for about 15 years or longer.

In the 83 seasons since Mansfield entered the FL, they’ve spent a whole 23 of them above the basement. A massive 1 of those 23 were in the second tier. 5 of the 60 remaining seasons were spent in non-League. They’ve spent 2 seasons above ‘League Two’ in the past 30 years. Got relegated in both.

I take it neither side runs an academy team then, which makes sense tbf.

With EPPP, COVID restrictions and money tight it seems a lot of money, time and effort given how most clubs at this level rarely produce any players that make it as first team regulars, and any real talents will get poached on the cheap.

our academy starts this coming season, but our under 18 team doesn't start until season 2022/23.

We're setting up an academy so we can look forward to our talented Furness youngsters being snaffled by the likes of Blackburn and Blackpool.

I can’t wait for us to do better, it’s more than due!

As was pointed out Crawley, like a few clubs, closed down our youth teams etc with the advent of eppp. With precious little chance of making a decent academy status any youngster we found who was half decent could be taken by a bigger club for a pittance (if he was a future international the price was fixed at around £50k).

We run a u23 side that plays friendlies against other clubs but nothing structured.

Really dislike the word " tinpot " when associated with putting the boot into clubs who are smaller, having troubles or just out of narrow mindedness.
I find it interesting how we perceive our own clubs, size, history and standing and then dismiss the same cases from fans of other clubs.
I know its a rivalry thing to deem your club bigger and better than others, but what really defines this.
I love the stories of the underdogs getting promoted from non league to league 2, also what Morecambe have achieved is brilliant too, there are many more clubs who are deemed tinpot but have well and truly punched higher than expected.
Fans also have very short memories, I have seen posts on here of a Bolton fan having some right wind up moments and getting some bites back.
For me we are all league 2 clubs for a reason, for some its a good place and for some of us not so, but I wouldnt ridicule or mock other clubs, as an Oldham fan I have seen some amazing times and some pretty bad ( currently ) but thats football. To me Oldham are a great traditional club with great potential and some pretty good history. To others we maybe "tinpot"........ who cares, enjoy your own club, enjoy banter within reason and remember we all have good times at some point.
Sutton, Bradford, oldham, tranmere, barrow doesn't matter were all in the same position.

The reason i had a go at said Bolton fan was because of his attitude. The fact that his only response was childish insults was why he got it back in a way he was incapable of replying to.

We spent 3 seasons in the National League. If it hadn't been for our new owners taking over when they did its very likely we would not have stopped there on our slide down the divisions. Up until 2014 we were very much in the tinpot category and had been for a while mostly.

He was a big wind up merchant.... anyway he's gone now.
Lets we can both be at the right end this season, remember some good rivalry between both our clubs once over.

Your best years was when you had Albert Scanlon & Ken Wagstaffe in your team.
