I
Not been in the Isthmian Full Members Cup but for Harrow I can raise you Addlestone and Thugbridge or Baldock Town (with Kevin Phillips as a left back).

Back in the day they were just as important as Bradford City or Tranmere Rovers are now and I cherish (some of) those memories.

Casey

I don’t know what it was like in the Southern League but for clubs in the Isthmian Premier we were involved in 5 cup competitions a season up until maybe 2002. FA Cup, FA Trophy, League Cup, Full Members Cup and County Cup. I think the Middlesex clubs also had the Middlesex Charity Cup as well as County CupThe last three of which all took place midweek in front of ‘crowds’ of 100-200 of you were lucky.

Of course all these cup competitions took priority over league games as well. At least once a season a League game had to be called off due to one side having to play a village team in the County Cup, playing for a place in the final at somewhere like Met Police FC.

Ah, the good old days. And still more prestigious than the Papa John’s Trophy.

Roughly the same Jared.

FA Trophy, Fa Cup, Southern League Cup, Sussex Senior Cup and a Floodlight Cup (lots of different sponsors).

Never won the FA Cup or Trophy and I dont think we won the Floodlight Cup though I sometimes forgot to leave the bar for those games.

If you want another level of tinpottedness. We've never played at Wembly and only ever won a league twice.

Casey

Edit, I have not looked back to the eighteenth century mind.

One of my earliest Cheltenham memories was beating Baldock Town 3-2 having been 2-1 down. Great game it was.

It’s all rather sad.

Is wrexham bigger than accrington and morecambe? are sheffield wednrsday bigger than brentford? not much use when you’re 2 divisions below

When you’re in the 4th division it’s all relative

Are mansfield bigger or smaller than some other nondescript league 2 nobody like crawley, barrow or leyton orient? who knows or cares.

You belong to be where you are at present on merit, the league system doesn’t care if you once won the FA cup before the aeroplane was invented or if you were once in the premiership

I remember someone actually ranking every side as well, i’m just thankful i’ve a decent job and friends haha
I've a feeling that last someone was a Bury fan

Ranking the clubs in League Two by size is harder than it looks... for one it depends on which font you use, and then this forum is constantly trying to autoformat your list so you can move something and it puts it in a different font or different size at the same time so you have to change that before you can see for certain if it's in the right place. There are optical illusions too, if you put Barrow above Walsall then Walsall look considerably bigger, but if you put Walsall above Barrow then Barrow look slightly bigger, similar issues exist with Tranmere and Hartlepool and with Sutton and Orient and with Brover and Crawley, think this is right though.

Forest Green Rovers
Northampton Town
Scunthorpe United
Colchester United
Tranmere Rovers
Hartlepool United
Newport County
Oldham Athletic
Harrogate Town
Mansfield Town
Carlisle United
Swindon Town
Bristol Rovers
Crawley Town
Sutton United

Bradford City
Salford City

Well that's factually incorrect as we've just changed our name to Barrow-in-Furness Town FC.

not quite sure how I managed that as I went down the league table as on the BBC page entering each club in. Only thing I can think of is I must have accidentally typed someone over you. Maybe I accidentally installed Lee Powers' accounting software for entering cheques and it automatically did a find and replace on the words 'Swindon Town'.

That doesn't really sound that old, our 11 oldest players have a combined age of 284 and unless we have more signings to come I expect we'll have the youngest squad in the division.
276 divided by 8 is 34 years 6 months.
284 divided by 11 is 25 years 8 months.

One club who definitely haven't gone cashless is us. I went to the bar and ordered a pie and a pint. They took the pie out of the cabinet, poured the pint and only then informed me it was cash only.

Hope they didn't have to throw it all away.

Maybe we should entertain ourselves over the course of the season with some kind of tinpot-league... points awarded for different tinpot actions and put into a table, and at the end of the season Mansfield declared winners.

Surely Carlisle being part-time in a professional league cancels any sort of tinpot competition!
