Fuck me, what are we doing!?! Thought that was a nothing game drifting towards a 0-0 draw that we would’ve been quite happy with until we manage to concede the kind of goal you concede when you’re 1-0 down in the 94th minute. To concede to a break like that when it’s 0-0 and you’re quite happy with that is unebelievable.

Curious how a nothing game involves one team having 60% possession and 15 chances, whilst the best the other team can muster is a string of handballs.

Chances is pushing it. Shots, maybe. As far as I can remember there was two things I would describe as ‘chances’ in the whole game - the goal and one for Norwood on the break in injury time that Schofield saved.

We were clearly the better side, played the more imaginative football and should have gone in ahead at half time. Notts were well organised and physical but Davies did not have to make a save all afternoon.

However, I still think County's experience might be enough to save them.

Norwood also flashed one past the post in the second half, your keeper tipped over from Jennings in the first half after a great move, and made another great save from a Caprice cross that was deflected on to him.... By contrast, I don't think Davies got his gloves dirty.

If you’re describing a volley from the edge of the box that would’ve been one of the goals of the season and a cross that hit a Notts centre back as two of your best chances, I think that kind of proves my point.

We offered v little of course but I thought we were very comfortable defensively up until the goal.

I think a goal of the season contender still registers as a 'chance'. In addition to our four other good chances, and our goal.

I am still struggling to remember anything of note you created all afternoon.

A deserved three points for Rovers.

The Connor Jennings volley, Norwoods shot that he should have scored from on 80 minutes. The one he dinked over keeper your lad cleared off the line?

We’ve played better than that this season, but there was still only one side in it. The second Notts changed the game plan from parking the bus for a 0-0 to committing w few men forward, we scored.

Anyways good luck staying up, wouldn’t wish that hell on anyone.

Oh you had a couple of good chances after the goal but that’s to be expected. Before the goal I expect the xG was like 0.5 - 0.2 or something, was a properly dreadful game.

I think that Rovers had more of the chances before the goal and it’s doing the Notts keeper a dis-service to ignore the brilliant save from Jennings’ volley.

Notts had two chances of note, a good ball into the box near the end of the first half from Stead put wide by the on-rushing attacker and Gomis’ shot that drifted past the post in the 86th minute.

On balance think Rovers deserved the win. County showed enough and have the players to get out of trouble, but it will be tight.

I thought it was a decent game to be honest. I enjoyed the performances of both sides, with Rovers looking to pass and probe and Notts well organised and resilient, in the first half at least.

I would not want County or Vale to go down, but it increasingly looks like one of them will.

County made a decent fight of it, especially second half where they were passing the ball around nicely, but creating very little. Tranmere's problem is creating chances - we're only making a few opportunities a game, but we're pretty clinical in front of goal. Overall 1-0 probably just about the right result. Hope Notts stay up, wouldn't wish the National league on anyone. Aside from Swindon.

Curious then that experimental361 has us with an XG of 2.2
