So the Payet saga thankfully comes to a swift close, best for all concerned really. Probably took a small drop in valuation, but given there wasn't anyone else and that he really did want to cut his wages and move back to Marseille, 25m aint bad at all. Looking like the money will pretty much be spent on Snodgrass and seemingly Hogan.

Seems we were never really interested in Snodgrass anyway. Word on the grapevine was it was just a ruse to get Norwich to panic a little regards our interest in Brady. We've offered them what will equate to £13 million after add ons. £10 million for a 30 year old with a risky injury past. General concensus is that it was a ploy to make Norwich's ears prick up and accept our bid.
Don't get me wrong. Snodgrass is a decent player and he'd have offfered us something we haven't got, but Brady is six years younger and offers similar, at least in terms of his deliveries.

Which leads on to the strange news today that we have bid £10 million for Andrew Robertson. Hull's left back. Strange because it isn't a priority position. We need a midfielder, pacy winger and a striker first.

Bet you regret rejecting £35million, or whatever it was from China for Ighalo now. Strange how much he's declined, although if he wanted the move that would explain it.

Yeah still don't understand that one. Granted we don't have a billionaire benefactor, but when we've just been rated top 5/10 net/gross profit in Europe for 2014/15. He can hardly say he hasn't got money. Probably closer to £30 million today IF all the deals come off.
Trotting out the money line doesn't wash any more.
