The Times are usually reliable when it comes to football.

Saw some shit Italian source saying Salah will actually be announced at 'one point' in the week. Top quality journalism there.

At least its possibly from the horses mouth, so to speak, if its coming from Italy. Need a bit of good news after the debacle of last week. Salah would be a good tonic to alleviate some concerns.

Liverpool have chartered Mbappe's progress for the past year & Klopp has now held preliminary talks with his representatives. (Dominic King)

Paul Joyce also reporting the same.

Why on Earth would Mbappe want to move to Liverpool though?

This vs Paul Joyce being very reliable makes me very confused.

Do we even have the money?

I would imagine the idea is to show we can mix it with the super money clubs. We can't possibly have this kind of money to spend on one player. We'd have to sell two players and blow our entire Summer budget.

Not to mention our wage budget! I mean PSG and the other 250 clubs linked with him will be offering him well over £150k a week you'd reckon. At the age of 18, god only knows what he'll be earning 10 years from now.

Anyway I'm not even almost hopeful, it would make no sense whatsoever for any party involved. Maybe he wants guaranteed starts in a world cup year but even then his best bet is to stay at Monaco to develop another year.

Tadic though!

Which is why you cannot believe these reports. Because 'we've' (meaning local media who are basically Howe's mouthpiece, as good as straight from the horses mouth) have openly stated multiple times in response to questions about Terry, that we are not interested in him. Reiterated as recently as last night in fact. Terry's people appear to be name dropping AFCB for whatever reason, as weird as that sounds. Maybe he's desperate to come see the pier or something.

Looks like there may be more developments in the John Terry links, as not two weeks after Howe's effective mouthpiece the local paper categorically rubbished any link with Terry, the paper this morning published an article online extolling the merits of Terry and why he'd be a good signing - before mysteriously deleting it. Most odd and intriguing. Personally think it'd be a wrong decision. I'd like to see us try and form a longer term partnership between Steve Cook and someone younger, and right sided at CB.

Terry's legs have gone. This deal will be similar to the Ferdinand - QPR one.

In before Mbappe agrees to sign for Liverpool only for Monaco to reveal screengrabs of Whatsapp messages from Klopp indicating another episode of tapping up.

The Mbappe talk is nonsense. Last week Arsenal supposedly put in a huge bid for him. He's either going to stay at Monaco for a final season, or Real Madrid will sell James and either Benzema or Bale, and he'll go there.

The sales of James and Morata would raise enough cash to purchase Mbappe.

Agree with it being nonsense, he'd never join Liverpool at this stage and you'd never pay what it would take to sign him.

Josh King is more FSG's level. Sick to the back teeth of this window already tbh.

He's been linked to Villa now.

Linked with David Stockdale, although strong rumours that Danny Ward is coming back on loan.

Mooy our number one target, although we aren't the only ones wanting him. With the Russia World Cup next summer I'm sure he wants to go somewhere he's guaranteed to start.

Steve Walsh is in Milan for us at the moment. Italian media linking Everton with Niang, Bacca, Lapadula, Banega, Brozovic and Murillo

Niang on his day is excellent. Can be hit or miss though. Always liked Bacca also.

Well when Walsh was with us we looked at Niang and Lapadula, so I'd imagine they're the prominent pair there.

We look like wrapping up the signing of Harry Maguire from Hull for 12 mill rising to 16. And we've had a 10mill bid for Jonny Evans rejected.

He could do ok for you I reckon. He's quite good.

Anyway, there is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

Maguire has improved a lot over the last few years, £12M in today's market isn't that bad really, but still grossly overpriced like every Premier League transfer.

Just a negotiating tactic I reckon. The tribunal will never value him anywhere near that much. Probably just hoping Liverpool will offer £6m in the mean time or something.
