Danny Livesey has been released by us after getting 5 awards at the end of the season - he was at you on loan i think - maybe you'll be in for him?

Think the rumour was from one of those click bait sites so no idea if it's likely or just lazy journalism. Can't see it myself as I think DC will have a lot of options in his head for the step up. Billy Knot must have a decent chance of returning after his loan spell if we can afford him.

James was Macc's best player against us on both occasions this season, but as Branston says, that rumour came from a click bait site that seems to have linked us with many players over the last 18 months but not actually got one right.

It's not a click bait site, it's a website based on information given to them by football agents.

Some of that information may be reliable, while some of it will be agents just trying to get their players' names out there.

My wife's bosses daughter (stay with me on this) is Josh Gowling's girlfriend and he apparently has offers from 5 non league clubs, the highest offer of which is a team on the South coast but he doesn't want to relocate that far.

Gowling has been touted by his agent to us 3 seasons running, but we've never seemed to want to pay what he's asking, which TBF is alot less than the injury prone CH's we have been paying....
Personally, i think he's mustard &id welcome him with open arms.

All 5 offers are less than he is on here and not what he is after money wise but yours is the highest of the 5 apparently.

And HUFC won't see a single penny of it.

Very good player, far too good for League 2 and now Conference, tortured defenders on a weekly basis until he got a bad injury and was ruled out for months, sadly didn't see the best of him after that, hope we can push that figure up a little bit, heard Leeds are also interested.

Grand and Livesey played together in our 1st year back in the conference - after we mugged the title off you....

Surely he's the type of player you need to be getting away from?

You mean in terms of his age and /or his wage demands?

TBH, we need someone who can actually be dominant & win headers when balls come into the box and Gowling has consistently been the best i've seen at winning every header he goes up for. He can play a bit too.

Just my opinion of course but the CH's we have at the club read like this:-

Ryan Cresswell - Been injured for about 7 months - class act when fit, but will he be the same after his injury return.
Reda Johnson - Classy but only plays 2 games in every 8, & spends all his time running up the left-hand side of the pitch trying to score goals, leaving us vulnerable to quick attacks. Doesn't seem to like playing centrally.
Adam Dugdale - A trier, but no pace, not great in the air and gets caught out too often.
Ayo Obileye - Looks the part but found wanting too often & can be clumsy, doesn't win headers.

I'd put Gowling in ahead of all 4 of these, & he'll probably only be on half the wages of the top 2.

Bit of both, really, although I'd agree he'd probably end up being available more than your better defenders and better than your weaker ones.

Rumours persist on our forum about Matt Rhead coming to us. I can see it happening (what's the perception at the Lincoln end?), but what he'll bring to us on the pitch is questionable.
Our Richie Bennett had a better goals per games ratio last season, I believe, and plays a similar role.

I'd rather keep Bennett in the team any day - he got 20+ goals this season - his 1st after stepping up 3 levels - he'll get better next season - Rhead is unlikely to improve the team
