Don't think there's much substance in the Ibhere rumours myself. For a start he's always been based at southern clubs apart from a couple of jaunts out on loan. Then there's the £2000 p/w wages.
If it's true and he does sign, I hope he doesn't continue the long line of big useless Ronnie Moore signing style lumps we've had up front over recent seasons.

Tranmere Rovers you have already made your best signing Lois Maynard why he did not go to at least L2 I will never know should have been L1,

Jamal Fyfield rumoured on Red Passion to be the defender signing on Monday.

Could though just be someone who saw he played for Mills at York and jumping to conclusions

Didn't impress in his time with us. A squad member at best I'd say and in my opinion not good enough to be first choice in a team with aspirations of promotion. Same can be said for Danny Parslow who I see is another name being linked with you, but at least he can cover several positions.

Dan Bradley to us is picking up pace, would be very happy with that.

Apparently our manager said on radio lincs last night that a 10th signing is very close.
On the other hand we're losing Miller to Carlisle and Bencherif is on his hols and yet to get in touch regarding his contract.
Apologies if any of this has been mentioned.

Hamza's new contract offer has been withdrawn I think David, the deadline was midnight last night and I don't think CM would be messed about by going back on his word so we won't be seeing him for us next season. On LCB there have been rumours about Dan Bradley for what seems like weeks. Not sure if this makes it any more likely but Bradley has been following tweets and favouriting messages about Lincoln City on social media.

Yeah a few people have told me that the contract to Bencherif would be withdrawn if no contact by midnight.
O well plenty more players out there who clearly do want to sign for us, from looking at Hamza's twitter account seems to be more bothered about his holiday than signing his contract offer or even getting in touch with manager not very professional. He could have at least rung and said yes or no.

I'm thinking this might be bullshit, but we've apparently signed James Clarke from Woking. Ex-Salisbury so we can tick that off the list, but only played 30 games last season, would make no sense given he was available last summer.

He'd only be back-up anyway, but I'm not sure what to think about it if true.

EDIT: When I say 'apparently', I mean forum rumour. So take it with a pinch of salt, though I'm never sure who to believe on our forum.

Shame about Miller, but was always going to happen. I think we did well to get him to sign for another two years tbh.

I'd like to keep Bencherif, though. Can cover a couple of positions for a start but I think he's decent.

Only just seen this, would be disappointing if it's true. He was one of a few players who didn't re-sign at the same time as everyone else, presumably to look for a FL contract (with us waiting if he didn't get offered anything) - fits in with what he's doing so whether it's genuine or invented who knows. He's solid, played 30 games as a result of frequent injuries but his absence was costly for us at times. Quite fast and is a useful right-back as well as his natural position at centre-back, although he can look a bit suspect when attacking down the flanks (which could be more costly against better opposition in League 2.) Often pulling shirts as well which gives away lots of needless fouls. A top-level Conference defender for sure and he'd certainly do a good job for you but I personally doubt he can play consistently in the Football League currently, but it remains to be seen of course.

Cheers Cards, bit more positive than I expected. Interesting re: contract situation, maybe there is some truth in it then?

I think he'd play second fiddle to Parkes and McChrystal/provide competition, a bit like Neal Trotman did this year. So doubt he'd be consistently playing for us but under Clarke (Darrell that is) there have been lots of opportunities for players on the fringes of the first XI. Good to hear he's versatile too!

Nuneaton have apparently offered Solihull a five figure sum for Bogle?!

A few rumours at the minute: Rodman has left, Blyth want Jon Shaw, Phil Turnbull is looking to pursue a career in teaching with Blyth and Darlo looking at getting him part-time if he does and if he doesn't Barrow and Wrexham are interested.

Bit of a risk if Grimsby are pinning their goalscoring hopes on him, but his scoring record in Conf. North and his age suggests it might be a risk worth taking. Would fancy them to sign an experienced Conference striker alongside him.

Unless of course the twist in the tale is that he wants to stay in the Midlands and signs for Nuneaton, would be a bad move though...

We tried to sign him last season, but apparently he didn't want to move this way then

Not reading too much into it yet. Nothing confirmed about us making a bid although it's pretty much a given considering Hurst has wanted him for years and then there's always the chance he won't come. Wouldn't be unhappy though, bagged them in at that level consistently for 2 seasons so a step up might not phase him too much. As Gashead said, would expect us to sign someone with experience alongside him.

Quite a few Clubs have tried to sign him on more than one occasion - Grimsby have tried, so have we, as have Wrexham but he doesn't seem to want to move.

Solihull have said he will leave them this summer, just remains to be seen where.

Bid accepted and we have permission to speak to Bogle.

Of course still doesn't mean he will come

Obviously relying on anyone to step up is a bit of a gamble, however I put him around the Gray/Hearn kind of ballpark in terms of risk. Proven and highly rated at levels below. As I would have been last season, I'd be excited if he signs.

Frealaf you seem to be remembering things slightly differently to me, though? I thought we wanted him, but that Solihull Motors wanted 40k and we weren't willing to pay. If that was the case, surely we wouldn't have spoken to him? I had read that it was almost guaranteed that he was league bound this season, though. Port Vale seem to have also been linked with him, so will be interesting to see if that spurs them into life. Luton have previously been interested him too, but I'm not sure if they would still be in for him. Barrow also linked a few weeks back, I think.

I seem to remember Hurst saying that our valuation and Solihull's valuation were way off at some point but then as pre-season went on I seem to remember Fenty saying it wasn't financial issues that stopped us signing Bogle but more to do with location.

edit: found the telegraph links, Fenty doesn't specifically mention Bogle, but the GET does.

"We're content with where we are – we've lost out on a couple of players for one reason or another, which has been disappointing, but that wasn't due to financial restraints.

"None of those were financial – it was more to do with location.

"We move on and I know Paul (Hurst) has got irons in the fire with regard to a couple more strikers and potentially a midfielder."

http://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/G...s-John-Fenty/story-21753631-detail/story.html

and Hurst on Bogle earlier in the pre-season

"That often doesn't match up with other clubs' valuations, so there wasn't really any legs in that one and I haven't given it a thought for a while now."

People chirping up again about us signing someone in the coming days. Think most believe it will be Dan Bradley, which would be a good signing I think. Be our business nearly done I would have thought. Maybe a punt on a trialist later on in the summer.

I hope it's not nearly done! We're way short on depth IMO.

We need another winger, CM and possibly two strikers otherwise we're going to have a first XI and then youth teamers as back-up.

Didn't Moyes say two more then hold some back for trailists? One of those two was Stanley. Unless we shift Burrow or Diagne of course.
