Southend fans: Kyle Taylor, any good? Looks like we’re signing him from Bournemouth on a permanent.
He looked like he could play a bit tbf. How's Dieng doing?

Cheers. Really need a new CM and if he can have future resale value then all the better.

Dieng has looked pretty good so far despite not having much of a pre season. Scored one and seems to fit in quite well with how we play, so happy with him so far!

Nobodies listening shag

If ya wanna have a go expect it back, part and parcel of a football forum, and it’s too easy for Stags fans in recent times!
Alright Rocky Balboa  I just said the Stagsnet forum weird, which it is; full grown men making so many silly childish comments "sheep, hur dur, dilly dilly" etc. Imagine if someone they know knew it was them on a public forum acting like that, I think they'd behave a lot different, maybe even act their age. It's all just very odd, like grown up conversations are hard. It wasn't a personal slight on your good self. Why are you being so precious about it, is it your website?!

I agree but like I said it’s same for every forum, and ironically I thought it was you acting a bit precious, I originally just commented on explaining why we have a single thread instead of several throughout the season like on other forums.

Think we can get over this hurdle and become best friends, I mean I even called you mate earlier, now ya accusing me of being precious, read the room better next time

Unsurprisingly with Quigley out and no back up we’re in the market for a striker - Cardwell who we had on loan at the end of last is in the mix as Chorley have dropped their price but the first choice is someone from the FL.

Cardwell must’ve improved shed loads because he was absolutely hopeless for us

Nah he's average. We got him in on a loan from Chorley when we were short last year and the NLN season had halted. First couple of game he started off great but soon came apparent we needed better hence us going for Quigley. If we signed him, we'd still just be pining for Quigley's return, so I don't see the benefit of signing him.

I agree with your assessment but I’d take an average NL targetman over not having one given how terrible we look without one on the pitch.

We are being linked with a loan move for 20 year old centre forward Jake Vale from Blackburn. Had previous loan spells with Barrow although he never played because of Rona and a brief spell on loan with Rochdale at the end of last season. Not sure how true the story is but we are short a proper out and out centre forward. I'd hope we'd be looking for one with more experience though.
Injured most of his time with us, although was fit enough to play for Wales U21s and pick up another injury halfway through his loan!

Seems the Col U journo doesn’t think this is happening ‘highly unlikely’ any more business for them. Wouldn’t be surprised if his contract gets cancelled by mutual consent before the deadline shuts.

Liked him a lot tbh. Just came to us in the wrong era, didn't do much for his confidence. I expect him to do well with you guys in the West Country. Good piece of business in my book.

Looks like Dembele’s 5-6M move from Peterborough won’t be happening this window and we’ll have to wait for our 25% until January, Peterborough’s chairman has said he’ll only be going if a ‘ridiculous offer’ goes in for him.

Over to you Wrexham.

If he hasn't left now, he won't be leaving in Jan for big money either, he will go for free next season and we will get nothing.

I thought there might have been another couple tonight.

Having said that you look in a good place abs will no doubt splurge where needed in Jan.

Pretty happy with our signings but can't help but feel we're a quality defensive mid short of a title challenge.
Going off our performance on Monday night, I disagree. Putting in a performance like that with a team that hasn't fully gelled yet tells me we will be right up there.

Agree. I think we’d have hammered 90% of teams down here playing that way. The poorer sides will make mistakes if we are putting that sort of pressure on.

I am pretty sure we will have been trying to get at least one more in, seems like we couldn't get it over the line. I agree that we have more than enough quality for now, just need to put some hard work in on the training pitch and certain players have to step up. Any obvious holes we can work on in January.
