Sounds like a weird one as he supposedly had a purple patch at Plymouth but has been shite everywhere else.

Parkinson obviously likes him, but a quick google of him brings up Sunderland fans calling him the worst player to have ever played for them so I'm unconvinced. Guess we'll just have to give him chance to shine.

In that case weve probably only paid 200k for him

Seaden is on trial at Swansea, which would bring structured fees in if he completes a move, the second one this season of that ilk. Some of the older Phil Brown recruits will be invited to leave come summer. the good thing is the embargo was against historic debt.

We are now working toward with a 32 point business plan, included in that is the repayment of the above debt and our budget has already been signed off for next season.

The development of the squad is being done with that in mind, new sponsorship that has been attracted to the club and money the has been able to be released, having got the ground advanced to this stage.

Our squad is gonna be as big as Chelsea’s come May. Surely there are gonna be some outgoings
Seaden will go out either to Swansea or on loan

Probably loan out Phillips and Howard

Sell Ferguson possibly

someone on our forum reckons Powell was better for us than a 38yr old Ian Rush as he scored more goals than him.... not sure if tongue in cheek, but ROFL

Don't be naive. We are talking about Ron Martin here.

Literally 2 months ago he couldn't pay staff on time and now we're paying fees for three players. All this *projected* new sponsorship coming is great. The club is run hand to mouth and a massive squad will hit the purse strings add all the backroom hires to that. Some of that 30mil for the ground must've come in following secretary of state approval.

RM been ill, pending court case. Don't really see any other source of this cash.

Goes to show that you can't read too much into stats.

That said Rush was a massive disappointment the season he was woth us!

Well if past transfer activity is anything to go by all should be revealed in just under 30 mins. Two medicals taking place at our training ground this morning, the second one is rumoured to be a NL player that has played for us previously.

Sam Barrett is one such player, but I don't think it is him, his knee was a really serious one and I think he has only managed 11 games this season (?), perhaps a Maidenhead member can confirm that.

Sam Barratt would be a top signing. Doesn't look like he's played since November though

Lennon wasn't in our squad on Tuesday, and if we have signed Mcfadzean we have a new left sided player in defence :shifty::bg:

Only kidding of course.

Ref Callum Powell, when i saw how well he was doing I wondered if someone would take a punt on him, he was all wrong for us at the time and his attitude was (apparently) terrible but that squad he was in was a shocker. He has obviously come on a bit and hopefully matured but I would have my doubts.

Kian Flanagan rumoured. Not played a league game for us but was a youth player

It's not the Ron Martin part, as he's not saying it, it's the words that came from Tom Lawrence last week at the supporters meeting. Being a member of the bar and owning his own law firm, as has been said on Shrimperzone, he cannot afford to involved in any illegality, so would walk away if he smelt a rat.

Let me say Ron Martin is never to be trusted and I am not trusting in him for one minute. I haven't since the AGM meeting about 12 years ago, when he said JJB sports had signed a lease for one of the then to be built retail units and Dave Whelan had agreed a friendly between us and Wigan for the next pre season and if we didn't play Wigan in a preseason friendly "you can call me a liar". I've called him out as a liar ever since!

But I know enough about business to now that if he goes down, which I suspect he will, that doesn't mean the end of his businesses, which I believe have already been transferred to his son. There will be other consequences if he does go down, but do you really believe he is not taking legal advice on how to cope with those and maintain access to the nest egg at the end of his rainbow.

His companies will still be solvent, they will still run and now, especially because of the housing policy in the UK, that is the reason this project has now got further than ever before. Why it has not been called in, why the council have ratified it, why we are attracting new sponsors on the back of it and why funds are now available as once you reach this stage you can borrow against it.

You accuse me of being naive, but I am not being naive, but open minded to the bigger picture of who is now involved and invite you to too.

Stockport making a move for Tom Elliott of Salford, according to the usually reliable Reluctant Nicko on Twitter. Pretty sure he bagged the winner for them at Vale last week?

Where will it end!
He’s now gone to Bradford.

With Charman choosing Rochdale and us deciding not to try and go ahead with moves for Cardwell and Elliott due to wages, all three of the rumoured targets to back up Quigley have gone elsewhere.

Hopefully we’ve still got some irons in the fire.

Thanks for that. It is a bit of a punt regarding Powell. Looking at a You Tube match of Kettering winning 3-0 at home this season, despite him scoring twice he didn't look convincing to me, willing to be proved wrong, and the pitch was a but lumpy to be fair to al the players. Hopefully he has something, but Stan said at the meeting not every signing will come off, but if you get 80% right as a club, you will improve and continue to improve.

here's hoping........

Is that cryptic for saying Kenan Dunwald-Turan is coming back!?

Stockport County.
Haha.

The worst signing in our history?
The most pointless maybe.

I don't know long he played in that Yeovil match but it was too long.

He actually came on for Scunthorpe the other week. They are definitley going down.

Does he really exist? I thought he was an urban myth

Blackburn, Huddersfield, Birmingham and Barnsley all after Wootton before Monday, according to the Daily Mail.

Obviously love the guy, but struggling to see any kind of case for him being good enough for teams at that level to be honest.

I'd agree - even if he is an excellent player at this level.

Plus with 6 months left on his contract... is he even worth selling? How much could you realistically ask for when he's available for free in the summer?

Agent throwing out Championship names to get teams slightly lower down the chain to make a move maybe.

Indeed, most likely thing will be a bun fight for him on a free in the summer. Suspect he’ll get a great move then because teams will be willing to take a risk on him on a free, so probably works out for all parties.

I guess someone could panic and offer us £100k or something now which we’d probably have to accept. If, say, Blackburn really did come in for him as well I don’t really think we could stand in the way of a move that could see him in the Premier League next season, but I’m not sure I really believe that anyway.
