Rumours surfacing we are in for 2 Dagenham players. If true our squad is going to be enormous
Where has the £ come from?

I’m not in the loop but I thought your owner was on the brink of a fraud case?

Southend definitely in Stocky spreadsheet territory now.

Really interested to see if any red flags are raised.

Who and now or in the summer? Said Still would tap a few up.
Not sure I’ve not heard this from who I usually hear through. Seems a bit random not to be true but at same time could be bollox who knows

Not surprised one bit, he will take what he can from us and a few he helped bring in who he had before at Barnet and add Currie to that. Would not be surprised one bit if 4 or 5 of ours ended up at yours next season as we could never match wages wise what you lot can offer. I’m sure with us being so close to play offs we wouldn’t do it now. Just remembered our owners said we won’t be selling anyone this season, so unless a silly offer comes or it’s someone surplus to requirements I don’t see it being anyone decent but famous last words as agents and players force moves these days.

We only care what people spend if they are a promotion threat.

That reminds me, we need to look into just exactly how much Solihull are paying that random Dallas bloke who has suddenly started scoring 5 goals every game. He's appeared from nowhere as a THREAT and needs to be dealt with swiftly.

Not sure there was something in local paper about a 30 mil grant for the ground and that’s all been approved so from there but it’s a guess

He might be able to solve the mystery of who assassinated James Rowe's career?

No expert, but I'm fairly sure a 30M grant for a stadium probably shouldn't be spent on players by a club with a chairman already on trial.

The Fraud case is reference Ron Martin's property dealing and avoiding the Vat on 2 deals, a total of £5.85m.

The club is not directly involved in these charges at all.

he and a fellow director of Martin Dawn PLC, and a former director of SUFC are, in their roles with the aforementioned property company. Trial is set for March....23rd I believe @ Southwark Crown Court. Obviously will keep you all posted. However his son is now heavily involved in his property companies if he goes down, won't be the first to run a business from prison from arms length whilst not being a named director.

As for the football club, our new CEO is running the day to day and his son would be the official point of contact with the club should he go down.

Funds, very broad outline we have been given during previous Zoom calls, but the grant for the ground, due to government housing policies, frees up money from the property companies, that would either have to support the project, or be found from private investors, therefore releasing money to South Essex Leisure, which is the holding company for SUFC and distanced from the property companies.

That's a very brief outline of what's happening and why Martin, dodgy liar that he has been in the past, but "....fucking loves the club", has been saying that once the planning permission for the new ground, housing and retail development was passed and not called in by the government, this would be a massive step forward and the start of a huge upturn in the clubs fortunes, which would be visible almost straight away. A synopsis of his words, not mine, but hopefully providing a background to what is happening down here now.

6 new signings in so far in January, another one I am aware of, possibly today and now with Shrimpurh's earlier update that rumour figure is now up to 3.

This is like watching someone play football manager for real !!! :ohm:

I believe and I could be wrong, it was adjourned until March, when it enters the plea stage, then as you quite rightly say, there is a further adjournment whilst the prosecution and defence lawyers prepare their cases. I could be wrong, but that was the last I heard.

Apparently once again, medical passed, contract signed, Press photo's done, once again just waiting for NL to rubber stamp the deal and Jake Wood will become signing number 7.
