Latics fans, any thoughts on Kyle Jamieson who we had on trial at today’s friendly with Fleetwood.

Used to play for us. Prone to errors. May or changed now tho, was only young then

Boz are you telling me Jameson played for Tranmere today he’s simply not good enough I expect you to be challenging for promotion this season if your signing the likes of Jameson there’s no chance

He was a triallist in a closed doors friendly at Fleetwood. Tom Davies and Byrne will likely be our first choice pairing, but the only other central defender on the books is a youngster signed from Brentford. Need another squad player in that position, but from what you and Barrow fans say Jamieson won’t be that man.

Maynard came to us just before the pandemic with a good rep at NL level with Salford. The season stopped with him only playing a few games due to Covid and then he started in midfield during the streamed, BCD season and I thought he was poor tbh. Defensive midfielder but so slow on the ball and immobile. Decent physical presence and in the air. Hence why I think Solihull used him more often as a centre half. I don't know he did for Solihull but we released him this summer and they probably knew we were going to all season hence why we loaned him there for the season with only one year left. So I don't think they've made much of a play to sign him up. Could be a decent signing but I think Hogan and Zaine Francis Angol are better signings.

Rumour on one of our Facebook pages that Lucas Covolan will be sent on loan to Chezzy. As a pure goalkeeper he’s our best one but can’t seemingly stop the red mist from occurring. Clear he’s just not been able to regain the trust of DC after his Kung Fu kick on McKirdy (though granted am sure he just did what thousands others would love to do to him).

If true as long as a decent keeper comes in it’s probably the right move, although if he’s got a year left surely we’d just release him?

Decent shot stopper but absolutely nuts, got sent off against Chesterfield in a friendly, then sent off a week later on the opening day of the season then the final straw karate kicking McKirdy to get sent off and give away a penalty when he’s caught the ball!

Loves to dribble out and gets in trouble! Proper South American style keeper!

In all the technical aspects of goalkeeping he is far better than Stone. Stuff like command of his area etc and distribution are very good.

He just lacks the temperament. Some of his shithousery can be amusing such as the time he faked the hamstring injury at Scunny when taking a goal kick. Other times it did come across he was more about putting on a show for everyone than focusing on helping the team.

Haha the Scunthorpe one was brilliant! Was like he had been shot in one of the movies! Then he’s back up and going! I liked him but he just makes you brick it when he’s flying off his line.

Throughout our recent non league history we have never had a top or even decent GK.

Amazingly we now have two: Wyll Stanway (who was recommended by a fan I believe) and Harry Tyrer (Everton youngster on loan, who has been on bench in PL).

Football Insider stating we are looking at York City player Maxim Kouogun. Is he good enough for the football league or too good for league one.

Fast and strong but passing not good,we signed him from Irish league and has made good progress but don’t see being a league player yet. competent national league defender for me.

AndyPark David Curries Mullet Haway then, as the last remaining Loids on here who you think Curle's been watching realistically, been to two games now, most recently that Spenny cup game.

Realistically he's been looking at:

- Dan Dodds - RB who can cover CB who's on loan from Boro. Been quality and way above NLN level.

Jack Lambert - right footed creative attacking midfielder. Usually utilised on the left.

Mark Beck - 6'4 target man with plenty of experience and understanding of how to ruffle and occupy CBs.

Our CEO was pretty pissed off with the way Raj acted when trying to sign Charman Last season. So imagine unless you're meeting release clauses (if there are any) on the latter 2 we won't be selling. As for Dodds, that's boro's decision as to what's best for his development.

It'll be Dan Dodds he's gone back to Middlesbrough he didn't play his last game for us, making a move into Leauge 2, with Hartlepool United believed to be among the sides showing interest in landing him on loan?

Good luck to the lad I thought he was outstanding.

Rumours that we might be trying to sign Ollie Pearce from Worthing, who apparently scored goals for fun last season in their run to the play-off final.
