Radio Humberside reporting that we were in for Dominic Vose before Scunny pipped us to the post. Seems our badly supported neighbours are using Paul Hurst as their chief scout.

Vose was also linked with us on social media, a very good player based on our game against them earlier in the season.

Now we've got rid of Matt Taylor (Cheltenham fans did warn us about possible attitude and injury problems), there is a rumour that he might be heading to Torquay. You have been warned. The few games he actually played, he was decent, but neither Terry Butcher, John Sheridan, nor Warren Feeney seemed to want to play him.

Conner Robinson was going to go on loan to Gainsborough but they couldn't afford him...

Hopefully never to be seen again. Never a good sign when you can't afford someone on probably £400pw at most.

Colin Gordon thinks there is an outside chance we could sign John Eustace

Good player, just never fit.

He was injured early on but even when he returned to full fitness all three of our managers this season didn't fancy him. In the one game I saw him play (against Exeter City), he was solid enough and provided some leadership which our defence has been sadly lacking this season. He'll do a decent enough job wherever he rocks up as long as he stays fit

Good luck to the Robins by the way. I'd much rather you were promoted than the Gumpers.

Small rumour from a trusted source that Michael Higdon is signing for us tomorrow. From Liverpool, free agent, 6ft1, decent scoring record - makes sense and has been linked with us in the past few weeks anyway.

Be a good signing that. Seems to have scored goals everywhere he's played apart from Sheffield United.

Any Aldershot fans able to tell us what they think of Anthony Straker?

Rumoured to be training with us

Colin Gordon on Ben Whitfield

"Gordon, who is also chief executive, was also confident that Ben Whitfield would remain at Aggborough. The on-loan Bournemouth man has been in excellent form but his youth loan was set to end on Saturday.

He said: “I have spoken to people high up at Bournemouth and have been assured that Ben will be staying with us.”"

Brilliant news if we keep him once again.

Divides opinions massively. One of the worst passers of the ball we've ever had but he's good going forward although a bit weak defensively. Decent enough player but there's better left backs out there at this level.

Just this minute signed.
We recently signed a Left back, and we are calling him a Midfielder, so not sure what they plan to do with him

We're expecting some further contract renewals (or extensions) in the next couple of weeks. Jack Muldoon is one we already know of, although there's been nothing official on that yet.

Also, Conner Robinson has the option to go out on loan to Buxton, which is a little lower than he probably wants to go. There was talk that he'd been offered a new deal but isn't sure whether to accept or drop to PT. He's been completely lost in the last couple of years and not really developed. If it wasn't for the fact he's come through the youth team I don't think he'd still be here otherwise. Not had a massive amount of starts, admittedly, but he doesn't show enough to warrant more chances. I think he could carve himself a decent career in the National North if he wants to.

Wonder who else is in line for an extension? Tempest is an obvious one. The 1st/2nd year pro's? They haven't played at all really since Christmas. Stanley or Sparrow? Sparrow is getting on and hasn't had a look in recently. We already have 8/9 on a contract for next season. Maybe Howe could get another year. He's not bad for a young centre half, could be one for next season with Nat Brown and Diagne getting released.

From what I heard, Sparrow has an appearance clause I think. Stanley has been injured. Howe seems an obvious one but I've not seen enough of Tempest to know whether he's worth one or not.

Most of those who were out of contract in the summer have already gone one way or another (Brown, Nolan, Burrow, Diagne etc).

I would definitely keep Tempest, hard worker, gets stuck in and is the best corner and free kick taker at the club for me.
Howe will be here next season, maybe Stanley, Sparrow has looked past it.

Sparrow has been the biggest disappointment for me. He still looks fit, Moyses said he was the fittest player when they were doing pre season tests I think? But he's just not been able to have any real stand out games. He's just been steady for me, which is a disappointment as I bet he's in the top 2/3 earners.

Controversial but I'd give Howe the elbow actually - went completely missing during that bad run, and I don't think he's done enough. I'm not sold on Waterfall either but he'll keep at least one of them.

Robinson needs to go, Sparrow will be on his way as well. I wouldn't even contemplate offering Hearn anything, a lot of people's patience has run out with him. I'd be tempted to give Bush a new deal as a back-up. Tempest, meh, works hard but that's about it.

Reckon Waterfall has another year left anyway? And Robinson will be a certainty to leave, things have gone stale for him at City.

I assume that would be Ryan Jennings then, from Wigan.

If so, he's a decent little player, definitely not afraid of a tackle and good on the ball.

A bit naive, but that's to be expected from a young lad.

Ousmane Fane is attracting interest from Birmingham, Derby and Walsall apparently. He's probably the key man behind our turn in form, so hopefully we can extend his contract so we can at least get a fee for him. I'm sure Gordon mentioned we had an option in the contracts of the new French players, so hopefully this will apply.

We've tied him and Elton Ngwatala down for next season now. Brilliant news for us.
