Think that's slightly confusingly worded. He says that our current playing budget (I.e. the players we have now who are available for selection) is under £200k. I think he means the rest is going towards paying off Styche, Reid, Clarke, Whild, Creighton, Hockaday, Reffell, etc. It was rumoured that Styche and Reid alone took up somewhere between £50k-£100k of this season's budget.

Sad Matt won't be returning, but he doesn't owe the club anything - there's probably not much point him damaging his reputation in this side.

Yes, the wording is a bit ambiguous. But if that's right, £400,000 a year to pay off ex-players/managers is a pretty staggering sum for this level.

That website has no sources for any story. It's one of those "who's got money and needs a striker" type sites, and I'd say there's less than a 1% chance that anyone at Barrow has ever even seen him play. Pointless article.
