Has anyone actually seen Ladapo play more than once or twice?

He played several games for us under Thorn. He was woeful. It was also later revealed he and Andy Thorn shared an agent, who negotiated in an obscene agents fee into his contract. We were still paying it off this season. Not necessarily through any fault of his own, but Ladapo is not popular round here.

Fair play - though I'm willing to bet that most criticising him have seen him once about five years ago. There were people in Barrow who didn't rate Grant Holt or Glenn Murray on the strength of one or two games...

Yeah, Chester seem adamant coming here, but I think they've assumed that because we, apparently, bid for him in January that he'll arrive in the summer. He's Sheffield based, too, so local.

That's been a regular rumour for the last few months.

He wasn't shite for us - just young and a bit raw, but put in the effort - don't be surprised if he is at Barrow again next season - he's been at several games this season

Ross Hannah will be appearing at quite a few clubs next season, hopefully he will play at least twenty three times at Holker Street.

I think a lot of clubs will be looking at some of our players, for example Guthrie and Kelly both refusing to sign contracts with us for next season as pennock isn't liked by a few players. That's the reason he suddenly has dropped these players only to bring them back into the team when he realised we actually needed them
...

Kelly is a class act, Guthrie is developing very very quickly into a talent, fully expect pipe to go as well.

Let's all hope pennock will be on a free transfer as well!

Andy Cook has had interest from "a number of clubs" and seems like he could be on his way. He's North-East based, and I wouldn't be syrprised to see a League 2 team take a chance as he's a totally different option to what most teams will already have in their squad.

Speaking at a meet the manager night, Cox said that he had new players signed and sealed for next season (which bodes well, when pretty much every season we have no new faces until late July) - would imagine that would probably be Sutton from Tranmere (been very good for us) and Ben Tomlinson (hit and miss).

Sutton has a year left on his contract so possibly not (unless an agreement has been made with Tranmere), but Tomlinson I think is out of contract in the summer so may well be one of them. Miekle may be one if his contract in conf north is only until the end of the season though

Well yeah, I actually think it's more likely to be them because they are still under contract - Cox can speak to those players whenever he wants, and there will have been some mention of potential permanent deals when he signed them on loan.
Out of contract players, for the most part, tend to see who's interested before committing to a club like us.

Cook has obviously had a great couple of seasons with you since leaving us, but has he had many droughts? As has been mentioned by a few of us over the course of this season, he never managed to shrug off periods of bad form for us with any real conviction. It didn't help that he got benched for long periods of time when this happened though. I'm just wondering if this hasn't happened to him at Barrow, or did he just get the chances to ride it out in the starting lineup when his form dipped? Going off his time with us, I can't see him being a great addition to a L2 side that will have more strength in depth than yourselves or most Conference teams. Don't get me wrong though, I liked him for us and rated him and wanted Hurst to keep the faith with him more than he did. Is the general consensus among Barrow fans that he is good enough to step up a division?

He's had his droughts, but kept his place in the side (lack of better options, but also a willingness to let him ride it out) - this season though, he's barely had a bad game and has improved a lot. I'm not saying he's necessarily good enough for League 2, but if a scout had been at Holker Street on two or three occasions to watch him, he's definitely put in performances where you'd think he could play much higher up.
I think most people see him as a Conference striker that will grab 20 goals in any side - sometimes that's good enough for the likes of Accrington and Morecambe though.

Might want to check the league two table and see where Accrington are! May not be there next season unbelievably.

How's that happened!?
Could revise that to say Carlisle instead, I guess.

Not sure how. Accrington don't have a benefactor to my knowledge.

Accrington getting into League 1 would almost be as bad as FGR getting promoted to League 2
If you substituted Braintree for FGR would be closer to the mark. A small non-bankrolled side punching above it's weight.

Not sure Braintree will be making the play-offs now. We all saw it coming to be fair.

Dover would be straight back down if they ended up actually doing it.

I have no idea what you're on about. I'm not saying the don't, and those teams, or the league they're in, haven't been mentioned either. However, just to clarify to my Southampton friend - Accrington could get into L1 on one of the smallest budgets in L2 and FGR could get into L2 with one of the biggest budgets in the Conference.

Ergo, comparing Accrington in L1 to being as bad as FGR in L2 (not my words) doesn't seem quite correct in my opinion.

it's not to do with money - it's to do with Barrow fans perceptions of the 2 clubs....
