Bad injury, done his ACL last year so looking likely he’s going to be released this summer. He was okay when he played but tbf never really held down the number 1 shirt

Thats a shame. Although when he wasnt able to displace Shwan Jalal its an issue (Jalal can be good at times but loves a clanger)

I’ve no idea if any truth in it, guess we’ll soon find out.
Wild has said there are 2/3 players yet to sign new deals and he’s revealed Earing is one. There’s a good chance King will be another so there could be something in it.

It was his attitude here rather than his ability, though. There was never too much doubt about the latter. The Stockport lot warned us about him on that front, but us two caught him in his late teens./early twenties and here was his first move away from home. He came across as a right mardy bastard who seemed to think NL footy was beneath him but wasn't willing to do the hard yards to get into the EFL. The penny finally dropped a few years later, mind.

Still trying to iron his attitude a bit - Lambert sent him to train with the Ipswich kids last season!

If we had kept him for that final season, he'd have thrived under Cowley the following one IMO.
Maybe the later cowley years, but surely in that first season he would have just got neck ache watching the ball flying over his head :animatedf:

The lad who gives me a bit of info has generally been spot on so I think at very least we are asking the question. A lot of contracts don't expire until 30th June so be suprised if it is before this.

We can put together a fairly decent team of players who left us and subsequently got promoted from the National league with someone else.

Pretty much lacking a defence, but other than that, you have:

-------------------------------------Sam Russell--------------------------------------

----------------------------Luke Waterfall - Curtis Tilt--------------------------------

--------------------John Rooney - Jay Harris - Lee Fowler-------------------------

Connor Jennings - Scott Quigley - Dan Holman - Jake Speight - Danny Wright

With less honourable mentions to Shwan Jalal & Elliott Durrell.

We’ve released Deering, Croll and Dobson so far all announced by the players on Twitter nothing from the club. Croll and Deering can play at this level not sure on Dobson, maybe a part time side.

Haven't seen him since he was at Maidenhead but he looked borderline EFL standard ability wise, sadly he was about two stone overweight which is why he's stuck down here.

What's it like to have transfer rumours and sign players?

We haven't even found out who's staying or going yet

pretty similar to mine but also Kyle Storer and Andy Mangan

I like to think about these things and get angry.

Chesterfield fans hearing rumours of a Tom Denton return to Alfreton. Anything your end?

What's your budget like? I'd have thought he'd be in demand at this level if Chesterfield are selling.

Wouldnt know. But Id say the same if not slighly less than last season which was not high by any means. Just dont feel Dents is a James Rowe type of player. Obviously friends with Billy Heath. As you say though comes down to budget.

Hope not! I don't anticipate him starting many games next season but what a brilliant option to have on the bench, especially against some of the smaller teams who just come to spoil. He's a rare player these days and we need to keep him for me

Come on Spireites, if you are intending to take back your place amongst proper clubs, as befits your size and history, then you cant employ Tom 'Simon' Denton

I quite like it though, you’d never have a Tom Denton Esque player in the Football League so it’s great to have someone like that who just screams non league forward:lol:

Admit it, he’s one of the last players you’d like to be seeing coming onto the pitch against you with 20 mins to go whilst holding onto a lead..!?

Hes the quintessential Non league forward for sure. As long as you let him go when you do go up, you can't be taking a player like that into the EFL, the shame of Mark Beck will always be marked against Harrogate.

Problem with that is he can't flick the ball on and then get on the end of the cross. He did alright for us in the conference north. I wasnt dissapointed when he left though.

Heath is literally lost without him though so I wouldnt be surprised if he went back there,

Anyway I don't know why I come on these threads. We are busy haggling over a 50p pay increase for Earing whilst everyone else signs all the good players.

Club wonders why fans get hacked off with the lack of professionalism from a supposedly full time club. Had a decent season and the club goes into hibernation for 2 week after the season finishes.

As much as I despise how much PW goes on about our budget, it would be nice to have some stability for once in terms of retention.

In reality, it's the same every season. We can't compete financially for our number one targets so we end up with 2nd/3rd/4th choices at the last minute.

Wouldnt totally rule it out. I assume he'd go back plastering and making a good wage from that too. Was rumours going round we had to offer him a decent wage to go FT and jack it in.

Any Hereford fans on here? Is Jamie Grimes any good?

Tweet from a Hereford fan suggests he had an absolute storming game early on in the season against Gloucester when Rowe was there, in which Grimes marked Asante out the game.

The fan also said he was the best CB in the NLN last year (in his opinion) so he’s obviously had a good season. I’d be happy with that signing, we need to bolster the ranks defensively after Evans has left and with Hollis injury, so an experienced defender such as Grimes would suit us perfectly
