Every time I see Boldewijn he always looks disinterested. He scored a belter against us earlier in the year but he strikes me as the type that might sulk if it's not going his way in a game

Just to clarify, I’m on about our game vs Chesterfield on the last day and not their game against Notts County lol
I was just making a very sad pun about King and royally, sorry. :bg:

I hope so, a flair player like boldewijn is something this squad lacks 100%

I’m sure Whittle would be glad to see him on the same side rather than facing him again twice next season following the 2nd half on Saturday! Thought he was superb after HT when he switched to wide right on the back of a very quiet first 45 when he was kind of up front. Has a good scoring record against the Spireites too.

He is out of contract in the summer and must be on north of £2k pw, unclear yet if we are going to offer him a deal or not - depends entirely on whether IB fancies him and sees a role for him next season, or whether our ‘stats based approach’ thinks we can do better for the money. Personally I would like to see him re-sign, cracking guy and really good player on his day, easily one of the best/most exciting in the division - however just like any lower league/NL winger/attacking midfielder, he can be inconsistent. But if he does go I wouldn’t be too disappointed, and would be interested in who we replaced him with.

Other than Mandeville and Clarke (although neither are the quickest) we don’t really have any players in the squad that can beat a man 1v1 on pure skill and pace, and that’s what a player like Enzio would bring..

We’re due to get a number of high earners off the books very soon (Will Evans, David Buchanan, Jonathon Smith, Scott Boden to name a few) and so that’s likely to give us some room to manoeuvre. However can’t see us paying him over £2k a week as our restructure on the financial side is mainly incentive based now, so I guess he’d have to take a bit of a hit if he was to join us (short term anyway)

Nothing to say we’re even in for him anyway, but that profile of player should be right at the top of our list for this summer.

Would you describe Boldewijn as a bit of a luxury player? I notice he's not always nailed on in the first 11 for County. Is that an attitude thing, or a tactical thing? He's exactly what we need though to be fair, we're screaming out for a bit of width, pace, and some goals in midfield. I'd be quite surprised if this happened though to be honest, don't know how much there is behind that rumour

Really don't rate Whittle at all. Don't think i've seen the bloke make a forward pass yet.

He’s a very safe player no doubt in his play, doesn’t take risks really. Offers nowhere near the same quality going forward as Taylor, however have to be honest and say that I’m more confident with him defensively than Taylor (apart from Saturday where Enzio tore him a new arsehole second half)

Not an attitude thing, that’s always spot on. He doesn’t fit into our 3-5-2 at all really unless we go wild with him at right wing back as in the second half on Saturday.

I’d like Enzio to stay, think everyone would, but I expect he’ll leave in the summer. Wouldn’t even be that surprised if we didn’t offer him a deal. In our new era of data and analytics driving decisions, his goals and assists record has never really matched his ability, which is way above this level. Unless we sell Rodrigues or Roberts in the summer (or the latter is actually ruined) it’s hard to see where he fits into the team, and he’s way too expensive for an impact sub.

I’d expect he’ll move to a League Two team anyway, but he’s the only player I can think of where him moving to you would be a bit of a surprise and interesting that is also vaguely realistic!

I get why he got the nod on Saturday but i've thought it for a while.

I personally think he's a big part of the reason why we went through that spell where we weren't scoring more than one a game. Whenever he got the ball down that side, he would usually slow play right down before then going backwards/sideways and letting the opposition get back into shape with men behind the ball. I'd play Taylor every time if fit but i also get the impression Rowe doesn't fancy him, defensively.

I think he's crap mate, just a non league plodder. Hope he's not signed on for next year is he? If we could combine the qualities of Whittle and Taylor that'd be great, but they probably both need replacing. I'd sooner keep Taylor though out of the two

I think that's my worry mate. Don't get me wrong I'd be very happy if this materialised for us and he'd undoubtedly be our most talented player, but I would hope we don't use a big part of our budget to get him. We've got loads of areas need strengthening. I'd have him at the right price 100%, but everyone would say that wouldn't they! He'll want paying at this stage of his career

Josh Coulson the latest one rumoured to be coming through the door

He’d be a good signing for you at this level was immense for us when we won this league in 2019 and scored 9 goals that season as well.

Isn’t the quickest but is very suited to the kick and head it games you get a lot of down here.
Coulson could be a great signing, depending on who he's partnered with. Him and Ian Miller for Cambridge was a great pair whenever I saw them together at this level.

They are two absolute polar opposites as you have said. Whittle is fairly steady but far from spectacular and Taylor is good going forward but leaves us open at the back. My gut is we will favour Taylor next season, well I hope so anyway.

We need a left sided George Carline from somewhere!

Luke Summerfield? Terrible player. The quality down here has really dipped over the last 5 or so years. Mad to think that a midfield pairing of Craig Disley and Jon Nolan (with Craig Clay as third choice) finished 4th when we went up. If we can find anyone half as good as those two they'll destroy midfields with players of Summerfield's calibre with ease.

I can't see them being interested in a 33 year old with dodgy knees. I like Sunmerfield but you Halifax fans really do put him on a pedestal.
I had my doubts about him after what you Wrexham fans said about him when he signed for us but he's been one of our top players this season without a doubt. Even after his injury he came back and was good.

I wonder if we can cobble together an XI of crap ex-Mariners plying their trade, and apparently doing well, down here...

Clarke another funny one. His first couple seasons with us he was brilliant. This season he’s struggled with playing out of the back in our 3 centre back system and his legs have gone. Thought he might retire but sounds like he wants to play on another year…

We can put together a fairly decent team of players who left us and subsequently got promoted from the National league with someone else.

He was absolutely woeful for us and Slade sacked off Shaun Pearson for him.

Yeah, not necessarily saying they're crap. Just crap with us. Gunning obviously has a bit about him, he's just a top tier tithead.

Giles Coke signing soon apparently, as well as John McAtee released by Scunthorpe.

I’ve heard Hendrie is going the other way apparently.
Didn't think we'd keep him. He can still do a job in L2 and he's not irreplaceable so good luck to him. Has been a good player during a shite period. He'd have been on a high wage for this level too. Clifton looked decent at RB at times last season as well.

Looks like Ryan Sears could be coming in too. One RB out, another one in.
