With a baby on the way (and his wife's family in Grimsby I believe?) and possibly a bit more job security I really can't blame him going back. Plus it's hard to stay mad at Shaun Pearson, a top bloke and can leave with his head held high.

Unlike Waterfall who left us under false pretences.
Thought Waterfall was just a distance thing?

It was. He was commuting from Sheffield, which to be fair to him is a pig of a journey at the best of times.

Maybe Shrewsbury paid him enough to doss-down in a Prem a couple of nights a week. I doubt Wrexham did.

If you want Waterfall back you are welcome.

Reading the Pearson thread on the Wrexham forum. Who are these Harvey, Reed and Humphrey fellas that keep getting mentioned?

Humprey Ker is a Director. British actor mate of Rob McElhenney so has been their eyes and ears here since Feb https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humphrey_Ker

Les Reed is a consultant, overseeing football strategy

Shaun Harvey has been advising on football issues, I think in a consultancy basis too, and in particular before our CEO started https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaun_Harvey

We’re interested in Chris Stokes formerly of FGR

Wouldn't blame Pearson for going back if he can get 2 years. Personally would be gutted if he did. Still good enough for a top end national league side even if he has lost any little pace he had. Big leader on the pitch and a bigger leader off it. Been nothing short of sensational representing the club locally exactly a the type of character a team hoping to be successful needs

James Dunne is awful. Legs completely gone.
Was our “captain” until he got sent off and we just stuck him on furlough
Blimey, I was thinking about Dunne the other day and I’m surprised he’s now so bad. Always gave everything for us and chipped in with some good goals too, but that was 9 or 10 years ago. Is his attitude awful too?

I wouldn't say so, no. He's not lazy but his legs are completely gone and his overall game is just very messy.

Harvey is the former EFL chief, most hated man in football I thought, god knows what Wrexham see in him

He came here when he left you because of travelling reasons. We then sold him to Shrewsbury after 3 or 4 seasons.

Seem to remember his missus was expecting around the time he wanted to move back and pick up a more local Club.

I'd have to check, but I don't think "Wrexham" have any say in it any more; I think the club was sold to somebody else recently, although I can't remember who, exactly.

Which is fair enough, really. It was frustrating, though, as he was superb in that 6 months he was with us. Maybe we would've managed to get into the position to balls-up a few more play-offs if he'd stayed.

I may be misremembering to be honest, or getting it confused with other players (Sam Wedgebury maybe). I seem to remember we cancelled his contract and he immediately signed for Lincoln, being done out of transfer fees was a bit galling when you are a club who relys on them. But to be fairnI wouldn't want to drive from Sheffield to Wrexham and back every day.

It was when Lincoln were throwing silly money about, we had no chance to keep him.

Yeah that was the one, I think we were all surprised at this end that he told you he wanted to leave and you gave him a free transfer, no questions asked. Bit weird.

Wait so Wrexham are getting a hard on about a load of old blokes running their club, one of them being Shaun Harvey?

Christ, rather be in our position and it seems Pearson feels the same.

Someone fire up the Podge Klaxon, he's only gone and liked a Grimsby Tweet. Fishy MELTDOWN in 5...4...3...

You and Southend really are partying like it’s 2015.

Haha in our defence Stokes, Pearson and Amond breeze into every single side in the division if fully fit.

Oh wait that Harvey. Didn't make the connection earlier. Odd choice.

He's in an advisory role, I doubt he'll have a lot to do with us now that the CEO is in place.

It hasn't stopped a few nutters from going mental about it though, comparing our new owners with Alex Hamilton.

We’ve just been taken over by a couple of rich blokes who had a clue who we were last year and have just nicked your captain, I know who should be envious here.
Grimsby fans, is this your onefootballforum nutter?

Guess every club has to have one. Not spotted the Hartlepool one yet though.

We’ve just been round long enough to know it’s the Wrexham fans who get most wound up about things, the Port Vale of the National League
