Poor man's Harry Cardwell.Rumour on our forum that we had an offer accepted for Charman but he’s chosen Rochdale.
'Charman remains with Quakers, despite a League Two club this week making an offer that met his release clause. The in-demand striker spoke to the club, but turned them down.'Rumour on our forum that we had an offer accepted for Charman but he’s chosen Rochdale.
Deal has fallen through apparentlyAre you in for him? I'd say he probably could, still fitter and faster than most.
£180k?? Blimey!Sources: Wrexham make six-figure offer for AFC Wimbledon forward
Wrexham have made a bid worth £180,000 for AFC Wimbledon striker Ollie Palmer, sources have exclusively informed Football League World.footballleagueworld.co.uk
Apparently he looked rubbish in the game Parkinson went to on Tuesday. Guess it doesn't matter if he's up top, acting as a big lump and winning headers for Mullin to chase on to. If Harrogate can go up with Mark Beck playing that role then we can go up with Palmer playing that role.Definitely looking for that donkey type of centre forward aren't we.
We are trying to tie up Danny Rose from Grimsby on loan to end of season, or permanent. Been decent since he arrived. With Jake Lawlor and Jake Cooper returning to the Hangers and Rotherham respectively, we are on the lookout for replacement CB's - anyone got a Jake that would fit the bill? We have got David Wheater training with us after an operation.
What’s happening with him. Everything I read suggested a done deal to us and then absolutely nothing. Are other clubs also interested?Poor man's Harry Cardwell.
Lawlor has been good, admittedly I wouldn’t think he’s FL standard but certainly good in the air and solid enough along the ground to be a decent NL and a very good NLN player. How's Lawlor done?
You could probably keep him for the rest of the season, he was a Challinor panic buy, played about 8 minutes for us and it was upfront.
We are again apparently. Fylde as well. What’s happening with him. Everything I read suggested a done deal to us and then absolutely nothing. Are other clubs also interested?
Target man is probably pushing it for Oliver, his all round game is pretty poor. He's be nowhere near L1 level, perhaps not even L2 if he was being played on his footballing ability. We need a targetman type striker to go with Mullin seeing as Parkinson insists on playing 3-5-2 and nothing else.
That’s probably us priced out then. Fee is one thing but I can’t see us competing wildly wages wise if Cardwell is going to come in and sit on the bench. We are again apparently. Fylde as well.

Personally I’d rather we went out and got a talented CAM in to replace Danny Rowe and Jack Clarke. Replace the two of them with one standout player who can sit behind Tshimanga and Asante.

rumours are we thought we’d sorted the loan extension till the end of the season pre-Christmas, but we wouldn’t let Raj talk to Charman so he pulled the plug on it. Not sure how true it is but given how far he’s likely to be from your first team and we were likely covering a good part of his wage seems odd not to extend.
£180k for Palmer is absolutely mental but aside from the price tag he'd be a better all round option for you than Oliver.Apparently he looked rubbish in the game Parkinson went to on Tuesday. Truly champagne football being planned at the Cae Ras.
I would say it’s dead in the water. Rowe won’t want to spend silly money and it sounds like unless we cough up - what - 6 figures for Roberts then Notts won’t consider it?Anything else on Roberts at your end? Burchnall pretty much turned it into a joke when asked, but I’m still not convinced he’s entirely happy at the minute. Mind you, if pissing him off delivers some more hat-tricks then who cares.

Burchnall made it out was ‘well below’ your valuation but that could just be posturing and trying to appease your fans.
Rowe’s policy on signings has mostly been bringing people in from either NL or NLN/S clubs, and with the exception of Tshimanga, Oyeleke and Danny Rowe I can’t see most of our players being on big money.
Didn't he score 17 goals in L1 last season? That's not bad, regardless of what his 'ability' is. If he's effective with his style in L1 then he'll probably be even more so in this crap league.Target man is probably pushing it for Oliver, his all round game is pretty poor. He's be nowhere near L1 level, perhaps not even L2 if he was being played on his footballing ability.
He's not a Brodie, Rhead, Akinde, Quigley etc type who have/had a bit more to their game.
As I say though, his ability to jump about 9ft in the air and simply get his head onto anything is a decent option to have if used well.
Dead in the water then - there’s no way we would pay that sort of money when realistically when Jack Clarke is back in the summer he will be competing for that starting spot. I’d imagine if we have made a bid it’s likely been somewhere between a third and half of that amount. Not even just six figures, I’d say £250k probably and we would have to think about it, but even then probably not to a team in our league right now. Under no pressure to sell because of his contract situation.
I’m hoping you’ve inadvertently managed to wake him up with a bit of controversy.
Around there I think, yeah.Didn't he score 17 goals in L1 last season? That's not bad, regardless of what his 'ability' is. If he's effective with his style in L1 then he'll probably be even more so in this crap league.
I'm not sure Richard Brodie ever even played League football in his career so he can't have had that much to his game.
