McEachran has broken some bones in his foot, out for 3 months.

Big blow for us. Was hoping he'd get off to a great start, build up his confidence. We should have enough cover, but wouldn't surprise me if we try to get someone in for a couple of months on loan from the PL.

Think United signing this Argie keeper will see Sam Johnstone arrive here on loan when they're back from the US.

No chance of a permanent deal, they rate him highly.

We've agreed a few with Charlton for Rhys wiggins, any good?

He'll be injured half the season made of glass, but a good player going forward on his day

Pretty much what Haddock has said.

Decent player but always struggled with injuries, wouldn't be surprised to see him get another metatarsal injury next season. I would like to have kept him in an ideal world.

Nixon says in The Sun that Villa "are ready" to sell central defender Nathan Baker for £2 million to Burnley who are still hoping to tie up a deal for Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury - £3 million bid rejected last time.
Burnley also hoping to sign strikers Chris Long from Everton (permanent or loan) and 17-year-old Wimbledon striker Daniel Aygei.

Wish there was more about Bristol City to be honest. If they can do 17 posts in a row about one player, I'm looking forward to the threadfest if Steve Evans ever becomes their manager. Wish I feel they do deserve.

So farewell Michael Jacobs, off to Wigan. A very decent player who can definitely hold his own at this level. An absolute cracker.

At least I can find solace that he has gone to a bigger club with greater ambitions, and where owners and managers value and cherish diversity, multicultural tolerance and racial harmony. And where they bring players on. Like Andy "Hashtag" Delort: French striker extraordinaire. The wizard of the North and a total Caen.

More seriously, at the risk of stirring up all kind of unwanted faeces, Michael Jacobs is precisely the kind of player a club like Rotherham could do with.

If we sell Ben Reeves to another championship club we may as well give up

I think Wes Burns has a lot going for him, and playing (when needed) in the first XI with better players will help. For Wales U21s he has looked really bright, intelligent running, and eye for a goal. Loaned out to a struggling Cheltenham may not have done him any favours, so I'm in the "lets wait and see" camp.

As for Reid, the season before last I always thought he played better alongside Big Marv, who could take care of the physical side and give Reid a little freedom. I didn't feel Pack did that....although he has come on leaps and bounds in the last 12 months.

Saw Reid at Brislington and he did okay....the Portugal trip seems to show that he's getting into advanced positions and getting off shots.

Another "let's wait and see" for me.

Still no need to panic...the first XI is stronger with addition on one player, Kodjia, and I'm not sure how long before Agard will be giving competition.

I'm still very positive about the season, a couple of thought through signings will ice the cake nicely.

Yeah good signing that. Perfectly capable LB for this level, just was only ever going to be a backup here

Didn't realise Sako had left, thought he'd gone directly from Wolves to West Brom. Think the club would come in for some stick if Sako had actually been sold by Wolves.

Yeah, he came to the end of his contract and wanted to play in the PL rather than stay with us, which is fair enough. The reason I'm bitter is because he said he wouldn't join WBA in respect to Wolves only a couple of months ago. Sadly any forms of loyalty seem to be a dying trait in football these days.

Still as much as it pains me to say it I hope he does well there, he deserves a good shot at the Prem.

Rumours have fallen flat here at Reading too.

We bid for both Donaldson and Beric, but Donaldson signed a new contract and Beric has been linked with moves to Inter and Werder Bremen so looks like we'll miss out on him too.

Three signings wanted/needed and only one pre-season game to go after tonight, so looks like we won't be strengthening before the start of the season.

Slightly surprised we've not seen any loans in or out of the club yet.

I can understand the reasons for bitterness regardless of the comments, but that does seem a bit off to me. Modern football I suppose, although I have read that he honoured his contract, when he could have left a year or two ago. Although whether he feels he can get a higher wage when there is no transfer fee involved is another thing...

Who was the last player to transfer directly between Wolves and Albion?

Lescott went there last summer, although he was at Everton and Man City inbetween. Players like Tomasz Kuszczsak and a couple others have played for both too. Last direct transfer I can think of though is our record goalscorer Steve Bull, who we got for next to nothing from their academy.

Also that Donovan Wilson we signed from your lot has been doing great in our academy teams, I think we will see him in the first team this season if he keeps improving.

Wilson never played for us, though featured in my school team a couple of times! Good luck to him though, would be great to see him break into the first team there!

Is it funny? I personally don't want to read two to three pages of a transfer rumours thread about Aaron Wilbraham to be honest. You're, in the main, cracking posters but by God you can't half derail and in some cases ruin threads.

Nonsense. The vast majority of City fans on here contribute to good discussions (I'm looking at you Jack Synx). People just like to moan because there are a lot of us.

Marnick Vermijl at Sheffield Wednesday is supposedly a fall back option if we can't agree a fee with Chesterfield for Tendayi Darikwa.

I don't doubt you contribute good debate but you derail threads that are general with infinite bollocks about your club, like the 3 pages on Aaron fucking Wilbraham in a transfer thread.

SF, re Vermijl, that wouldn't disappoint me, there's no doubt he's a decent player but he's just struggled at ours in the six months we've had him, Jack Hunt looks a cut above though.

You mean the 3 pages started off by sernwa doing his usual spouting of nonsense? Yes some off us bit, but you can't blame it all on us

Nonsense? So it's nonsense cos I dare to say your team isn't all that.

Reality checks can hurt, it's how you recover from them.

I have never, and nor have the other city fans on here, claimed that we are all that. But hey, don't let facts get in your way. Most on here are saying that as things stand we will struggle because we barely have a squad, quite the opposite of yet more crap you decide to come out with, but either way this is a discussion for another thread, not this one.

Why don't we have a Bristol City thread, then all the bollocks can be debated in there and other threads can remain relatively untouched.

On top of that can we behave in the attendances thread an all this season as I'm loathed to trawl through the shit to drag out numbers.

Michael Jacobs completed his move to Wigan.

Really disappointed to be honest. He hasn't been given a chance last year by KJ, even more strange considering he was great in our L1 season. At the end of last season our owners said we will be much stronger this coming season, at the moment we look a lot weaker. Lot of work to do if we want to match last season's point tally.
